We hired professional contracting and paired it with a tiled curb and stone base. Finish is spot on too. It was half the price of a custom enclosure quote, and close to identical quality! We put the savings into other fixtures in the room. If you buy this or any frameless enclosure - get pro installation! Its heavy and needs 2 people.

Will this enclosure work with a 36×36 shower base and walls?

Thank you for your interest in Aston and the MERRICK GS Frameless Shower Enclosure Collection. This model will fit your 36 x 36 shower surround as long as there are at least 3" studs behind your finished walls for supporting the heavy, thick glass and hardware. Regarding your existing shower base, we regret to inform you that we do not recommend our models to pair with ANY prefabricated existing or new third party brand shower bases, as we can not vouch for their designs/specs/engineering. Since professional installation is required, we ask you consult your trusted licensed contractor for a new custom base/pan solution for your bathroom's corner alcove allotment. You can also install this on a finished, tiled low-profile curb. Another popular option is a direct installation to your finished bathroom's slip resistant, water-safe flooring for zero threshold.

I have a new Maax acrylic shower base Neo angle 38 by 38 “. Sides are 18.5 each and door opening  is 23”. Dimensions from finished walls would be approximately 17.5 “.Would the Aston Merrick 36 by 36.5 by 72” fit the enclosure given the 1”margin for adj?

Hi Chris - thank you for your interest in Aston and the MERRICK Frameless Shower Enclosure Collection. The measurements we provide in the item title represent the space needed in your finished corner alcove space. So it would seem your base would not pair. However, we do offer a 38-in x 38-in x 72-in model in the same frosted glass and brushed stainless hardware that would alight. We offer a Specifications Sheet on the product page with all intricates. Aston does not recommend using existing or prefabricated third-party shower base with our luxurious models, as we can not vouch for their specs, design or engineering. Any new frameless shower should have a new base. Aston recommends, if not requires, professional installation by a licensed contractor with at least two adults in the process. Do not DIY this unless you are experienced. Thank you!
