Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good Alternative, but..... This is a great alternative to composite decking mostly because it is a fraction of the price. This deck tile is meant to be installed as a floating floor, however there are some issues that I encountered that buyers should be aware of. I purchased the 12x24 size so that I would cover more area with boards as opposed to the square 12x12 tiles. After installing half the deck in tile, it didn't take long to find the tiles warping in the hot sun. First it was in the concave direction, so I decided to slide out each board and screw down the middle of the holder into the deck for each board (there are 5 boards to a tile), then slide each board back onto the holder. That took quite a long time. But then the tiles began to warp in the convex direction! And so once again, I slid out each board and put screws into each end of the holder for each board and then slid each board back into place again. Screwing the tiles in worked, but it took an incredibly long time to complete. I have a large deck - 26 ft x 14 ft. So much for being a floating deck! Then, the lines of tile would not line up. I installed them vertically across the deck, and after several rows and 6 or 7 tiles down, suddenly they would not line up to connect. Ugghh...frustration. I contacted Aura to find out about the warping and they said that the tiles are not supposed to warp. They offered to replace them but I wasn't prepared to go through the installation issues again. I knew they would warp again, and I don't think they understand that the 12x24 tile configuration is subject to warping in the hot sun if laid as a floating floor. Anyhow, I would still recommend these tiles as an alternative to composite. I finally finished the install and the deck looks fantastic! I would recommend that if you like the look of the 12x12 tile, purchase and install those instead. I doubt the 12x12 size will warp. I think that the 12x24 tile is just not sturdy enough to resist warping in extreme heat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Toutes gondolées.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Aura Deck Tiles Excellent product. Simple to install - only took about 3 hours to make cuts and install 250 sq. ft. Looks good and hopefully will weather well. Time will tell

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully transforms your deck This is a gorgeous product. But buyer beware, if the space you’re covering doesn’t perfectly match the dimensions, you’ll need to make sure you have the right saw and tools to cut the tile to fit. If you know what you’re doing, it will look amazing. Another warning, if you’re deck is south facing or gets a lot of sun, be careful about what type of rug you put down. My outdoor rug has a rubber bottom and melted into the deck tiles. When I pulled the rug up, a nasty film was left on the tiles that I can’t get off.

Has anyone experienced the performance year after year in a Canadian winter? It doesn't fade, bend or warp? Is it scratch resistant?

Asked by: Eddie
Hello Eddie, Aura deck tiles have a 20 year limited warranty against bending or warping. Natural weathering may occur over time. Aura deck tiles may scratch if a sharp or heavy object is dragged across the tiles. Minor scratches can be buffed out.

Hello, how many boxes will I need for a balcony measuring 12ft11" x 5ft?

Asked by: Aaron
this is a math question, not a product question, but I am great in math, so here it goes you basically want 13 ft x 5 ft.  so 13x5=65 square feet.  Each of the cases you buy says they are 10 square feet.  so 65/10= you need 6 and a half cases of the deck tiles.  Best of luck.

Are the edge pieces included in the package or are they purchased seperately? If the are seperate please send me a part number.

Asked by: Bandit
There are no edge pieces.. Also I highly recommend you do not buy.. all of my tiles are warped and do not lay flat... reached out to customer service and they won't issue a refund .. only replacement alternative pieces. They omitted to the pieces being defective . Problem is I spent a whole day installing and cutting.

If I use the 2 ft boards length wise on all 4 sides of my porch, will the 12 inch tiles connect to the long side of the 2 ft tiles so I can fill in the field with 12 x 12 tiles?
