Rated 1 out of 5 by from dont buy it I applied it on a very warm day.. (about 24C), and it didn't soak in. 2 days later about half of it was still on the surface. Now it looks like I will have to wipe it down with mineral spirits to stop treading into my home. Never seen Penetrating oil before that wont penetrate!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great! But the “Clear” isn’t clear. After looking for a good quality finish I could treat our cedar deck with I settled on this product and so far I’m glad I did. Oil soaked into the wood within a few hours and repels water well so far. Time will tell if it holds up during the northern Ontario winters. One thing I will warn others on is same as others have mentioned, it certainly isn’t clear. If you’re looking for a truly clear product don’t buy this, you will not be happy with it. For me however, the colour it gave the wood makes the cedar almost like the day it was installed so I’m happy with it, but it’s definitely a golden/orange hue. Another warning to others is make sure you mix the cans extremely well. The colour pigment settles on the bottom and was very thick in the cans I bought. Shake it throughout the job to keep it consistent. Before finishing one gallon I also mixed part of the next gallon into it to keep it more consistent. All in all though I’m happy with it and just hope I don’t regret it come spring!

Many years of different stains and this penetrating oil from Behr will be our only treatment going forward. Chose Wedgewood color which is perfect - very forgiving color that blends in well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waterproofing Wood. It does exactly what it says on the tin. They recommend one coat only, because the second coat will sit on top of the first coat and not dry. I was generous with first coat because the wood was very dry.

How long do I have to wait to apply a second coat ?

Hi, Thank you for your question, The vendor have confirmed that Transparent Waterproofing Penetrating Oil Wood Finish only requires one coat. Also the vendor do not recommend applying a second coat, as the second coat will not penetrate and puddle on the surface.
