Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this paint I had a massive undertaking - cover walls of an 800 sq foot living room, plus hallway and stairwell. When we moved in, the walls were a dark, dusty rose colour. I had used Behr paint before and been happy with it, and I was NOT prepared to do more than one coat for this large space! I chose Silhouette colour (light grey) and bought four gallons, and not only did it completely cover in one coat, I had enough paint left to do my 150 sq foot bedroom. I can't rave enough about the quality of this paint. It goes on thick, but if you are a reasonably skilled painter you will get accustomed quickly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from DEFINITELY more than one coat Very disappointed with the MARQUEE One-Coat. We purchased it being assured it would save us money because only one coat would be needed when that was not in fact the case. My husband had to put up a second coat because you could see all the paint roller marks and parts of the wall were much lighter than others. Not to mention it was super thick so it was hard to roll on to begin with. We enjoyed the ULTRA MUCH better. Would not purchase MARQUEE again. At this point, if the second coat doesn't help, we are just going to have to end up repainting with another brand costing us MUCH more than had we just bought the ULTRA. Bad Form! #BadBEHR #unhappypainter

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not "one-coat" coverage I feel I must comment on Behr's claims of one-coat coverage, not only for this particular paint, but others in their line, as well. I am an experienced painter, both of interior surfaces and furniture, and I have never found, even with exacting preparation, that any Behr paint, even with primer included, covers in one coat. Be advised that, should you choose a Behr product, you should still prime, or be prepared to apply at least two coats on any surface. Using this Behr Marquee in a satin finish, I am looking at using 3 coats over a properly sanded, light pine cabinet I'm currently painting. Although Behr's quality is very good, I feel that consumers are being misled about the ability of this paint to cover in only one coat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hard to gauge amount needed It says one coat.. and it seems that it IS possible with some colours. I managed to paint Art District and Diva Glam with one coat.. however, Japanese Koi was a complete fail! I love the colour--after 2 coats. It is IMPOSSIBLE that this one could be done in one coat. If you put it on too thick, it's runny.. and one coat leaves uneven brush and roller marks. I used it in two different rooms (one over yellow paint pictured.. and another over a pastel mauve) and had the same issue both times. This makes it difficult to decide on how much paint you'll need if doing an area that would supposedly only need a quart.. if only one coat is required. It's unfortunate, as I love the look of quality of the paint on the wall!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 7 gallons to repaint most of the interior of my house and when I had finished over half of it I could see where the roller left nice satin finished strokes and other spots where roller strokes were dull. Like a mixture of satin and flat paint was used, but it wasn't. Only noticeable in a natural light reflection at the right angle due to the color I chose. It looks horrible. Most people won't notice it, but I do and I hate it. Way too much work to redo. Very dissatisfied. Will choose another brand to finish bedroom and bathrooms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing coverage! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to entirely change the look of a dark old maple dresser. I chose to use Behr Marquee paint because it has a built-in primer. I lightly sanded the dresser where the wood was worn or chipped, and wiped it so the surface was clean. That was the only prep I needed to do before I got to the part of the transformation I like best: the painting. I enjoyed the way the paint spreads, very even and such good coverage! The change from darkened shiny wood to sea glass blue completely changed the look of the 60+ yr old dresser. It is now a pleasure to see and to use. I am delighted with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised I am a painting contractor that has been in business for the past 20 years. Last month I had a customer insist that I use Behr Marquee to paint the walls in her daughter's room. She informed me of this new product and told me that it was guaranteed to cover in just 1 coat. I kind of chuckled when she told me this, then I proceeded to tell her that there was no way that the pastel color was going to cover in 1 coat. To my amazement it actually covered in just 1 coat! This product saved her nearly $150 for the cost it would have been to apply a second coat. I now offer this product to all of my customers with interior projects. Rated 2 out of 5 by from 2 Coats Required I am not sure if it is the color I purchased, but after one coat of this paint my walls are covered in streaks. I am very frustrated that I now have to go back and buy another gallon. The only reason I tried this paint was because I was told I would only need one coat when I talked it over with the worker at the home improvement store. I live in a new home (finished April 2015) and the walls are all cream with a flat finish. I was horrified to see the finish once the one coat dried. I will not be buying any more of this paint after my next gallon to finish the job. Very disappointed.

Can this paint be used on a bathroom ceiling?

Asked by: JSB2
I think usually a flat white is used for a ceiling, but I am fairly certain it can. This is the best paint to work with, and I compared it directly to the Sico equivalent when I was painting my house, and I prefer this paint.

My daughter wants a wall of 7 stripes of different colour.  The wall isn't large so I don't need a lot of paint and I'd like to buy the sample size.  Will there be any issues if I used the paint from the sample?

Asked by: Cindy
Hi Cindy, thanks for reaching out. We appreciate your interest in our products. Our samples are designed to help you visualize the color you'd like to use in the space you're painting. Therefore, we normally recommend, once you've narrowed down your color choices using the samples, to recoat your surface with the appropriate paint you are planning on using. Keep in mind that our Marquee paint is also available in quarts, for your convenience, for instances where the project is smaller. We hope this information is helpful. Happy painting, and best of luck with your project. Have a great day. -Joanna

How do you choose a colour online so its a quick pickup?

Asked by: Seymour
I am not sure - I had the luck of first buying in store - one piece of advice - most monitors do not provide true colour when looking at them on line - so best tp try a sample first

Is this paint supposed to come with the pour spout included? I see it in the promo video but when I did curbside pickup it up there wasn't one included and I didn't notice til I got home.

can this paint be used to paint finished pine? i have the select grade pine with a smooth finish and no knots but there are knots on the back side. will i need to prime with a seperate primer or can i use this product without a primer? thanks.

Asked by: chard
Hi chard, thank you for your question. The Marquee Paint has a stain-blocking primer that will help block knots. The first coat will be a primer coat, and additional coats will build up the finish. Have a great day! -Giovanna

Can this paint used over a glossy paint (oil based) ?

Asked by: Mcc1999
Hi Mcc1999 - Thank you for your question! Our Marquee Interior paint can be applied directly on top of glossy and oil-based paint in good condition. We recommend scuff sanding glossy surfaces and making sure your project is clean and dry before painting. Best - Sara

Is it latex or acrylic, is it easily removeable after it dries?

Asked by: sdaraza
Hi there, thank you for your question. As it turns out, there is no difference between latex and acrylic paints. Latex is an overall term for synthetic polymers like acrylics. With that in mind, our Marquee Paint is an acrylic/latex paint. The product is designed to adhere to surfaces, so to remove the coating, we recommend sanding or using a paint stripper. Have a great day! -Lina
