Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Worth the Money I have painted as a pro for many years and I found this paint very challenging to work with. It has a very short open time, and would start to pull away from the wall if you rolled over it more than a couple of times. It stinks - literally it has a very unpleasant odor. I also question whether or not it is true one coat coverage as I noticed some of the old colour flashing through so I ended up having to roll again. It looks horrible (more than paint normally does) as it is drying but I will say that it does look good after several hours to dry. Stick to the Behr Premium, or better yet, find a Benjamin Moore store and use their Regal line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality but strong odor. Great paint. Excellent coverage and pleasure to work with. Only downside is strong voc smell for several days despite extra ventilation such as open window, exhaust fan and even a fan. So of painting bedroom I suggest cheaper behr premium plus with low or zero voc. That one paint by morning no smell by end of the day.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Runny, and poor coverage. This is awful paint. I'm a huge fan of Behr paint in general. We've learned our lesson in the past about using cheap paint, so my wife picked this one up thinking it would be the best type to use (since it's most expensive). I've never used a paint that is so runny. It was impossible to get a good bead going to do the edges, so I ended up having to tape everything. Even with the tape, I could not get a nice edge. Even with the lightest touch, I could not fully cover the edge, and as soon as you have too much paint (about the exact amount you use with decent paint to get a bead going) it runs and drips everywhere (including down the paintbrush). Once I got going with the roller, I had similar problems. In no way could you ever hope to one-coat a wall with this paint. As soon as you have too much, it drips. I actually had to go back and smooth out places on the wall where drips were forming -- I've NEVER had drips form on the wall after using a roller before. Despite that apparently using too much paint, the paint underneath is still showing through so it will most definitely need a second coat. I recently painted a 15x10' room (ceiling-to-floor) a light blue (covering a deep blue) using Behr Premium Plus (zero VOC), in one coat, with a little under 1/4th the can left. I've painted the first coat of this 12.5x9.5' room only 2/3 the way down (the bottom 1/3 will be wainscoting), and I only have 1/3 the can left. After two coats with this garbage, I'm going to end up using about 30% more paint to cover nearly half the square footage. Now my debate is: do I buy another small can of this terrible paint so I can finish the second coat, or do I just switch to Premium Plus and basically write-off my afternoon and the remainder of this can as a complete waste.. I would absolutely not recommend this paint at all. Use Premium Plus. If you want runny paint, save your money and go buy the cheapest stuff you can find: you certainly won't have a *worse* experience than with Marquee.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Never again This is the worst paint I have ever used. I have painted MULTIPLE ROOMS and I've NEVER had a issue with roller/streaking marks. I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of them. Painted the wall 5 times. 5 TIMES!!!! AND IT STILL LOOKS LIKE CRAP. I would not buy this paint again, over priced and does not cover in one coat as stated. I painted using the color starless night, yes it's a dark color. But again, I've painted multiple rooms using dark colors and I have never had this issue. I am so fed up.

The previous paint was a dark brown which we assumed would need 2 coats even with the “one coat guarantee” and sure enough after the first coat, another was needed. When we applied the second coat and allowed it to dry it was very uneven and looked as though we had used 2 different kinds of paints, even though it was the same can. Needless to say after paying extra for the paint + primer together we were left disappointed with the final result.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Results!! I just painted a feature wall in my family room and I am extremely unsatisfied with the results. I have painted countless rooms and I have never had any problems. I used a high quality brush and roller following the manufacturers recommendations. The paint covered well, however, it left roller marks and noticeable variations of sheen on several areas of the wall. I have used other Behr paints without any issues. Definitely not the elegant look I was going for!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This was a mistake! Firstly, the can is only 3.32 litres, not 3.7 as advertised. We had a Behr paint sample we had chosen but I was advised that the one-coat guarantee would not apply because it was no longer in the current colour palette. And it certainly did not cover in one coat. I stored the can upside down prior to using it and apparently, it skimmed over on the bottom so when I mixed it up I got chunks of skin all through it which got larger as I got closer to the bottom of the can. I picked off what I could but my walls are ruined by all the lumps and bumps which came from the paint and I didn't see at the time. Once this paint sets, it is like a plastic coating and I couldn't even sand it off. I tried to touch up the thin spots, as there was not enough paint for a second coat, but the touch-ups didn't blend well either and every roller stroke shows.

What is the difference between the medium base satin enamel and deep base satin enamel. I want to use it for a craft paint and would like to know if one is more fluid or thicker than the other.

Hi Carolyn, thank you for writing in with your question. The medium and deep bases must be tinted before using. The deep base is designed for dark and rich colors, as it will hold more colorants. The medium base is for medium range colors. The color you select, will determine the base it will need to be tinted into. Good luck with your project! -Giovanna
