Rated 1 out of 5 by from What is this?... a milk The last Behr paint I have purchased.. I promised that to myself... This thing.. I will not even call it a paint, does not cover anything, very watery consistency, it looks and feel like 3% milk for $60+ a gallon... I will NOT buy any BEHR paint until this company gets its act together. Home Depot should stop selling their product, that is as far as I will go... It does not cover, it does not hide anything, it is not durable, so much time and labor wasted trying to apply this GARBAGE. I invite any Behr representative to come and apply this paint, so I can make a promotional BEHR company video with their expert on my job site.. WHAT A SHAME product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can not recommend Was recommend this paint for baseboards in newly developed basement by paint associate. I have used many paints as a contractor, and this one is the worsted I've ever used. To start it has very poor coverage/cover up on even white primed baseboards I had to do 3 coats to cover evenly. Never levels and dries extremely fast causing brush strokes to dry almost instantly. Cleanup is a nightmare as the paint drys so fast. Will not use again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pro approved Professional painter and Home Depot Local Pro Great product! Dries fast which is good for the pro and tricky for a novice. Sprays great with 210 tip, rolls with 6mm wooster 4" roller perfect. don't over work it! I'll buy it for all my cabinet projects

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible...I am devastated. I have painted professionally and know the process, this paint was recommended by the Behr rep at Home Depot and because I love Behr paint, I started this project...so excited. I prepped the cabinets and painted 2 coats. I waited about a week to use. After 2 weeks the paint is wearing off on the edge of doors. It is stained and now bare wood is showing. I will have to strip and redo the entire kitchen. It’s not just the money it is the TIME! I will NEVER purchase Behr of ANY kind again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very very poor results I bought this with excitement, I went to paint a bathroom door and this paint was drying just a few minutes after applying it. It has no movability the paint,it just dires too quickly. The finish i was left with was very streaky and very rough. You could see it without even touching it. I stopped what i was doing and went and bought a different type of paint to finish off what i had started. For almost 70.00 it is not worth it. I tried different brushes and rollers and nothing worked.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst finishing enamel ever! I have been painting & refinishing furniture for over 50 years - I have never had this much trouble with paint. It sags badly unless you are finishing a flat, horizontal surface. Also, the coverage is poor - you definitely need 2 coats.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Odd but worked Odd paint to work with. Dried very fast and that was good but also made it tricky to work with. Oddly had a lot pain in my thumb working with this paint. The outcome was nice though. I'd give it another shot as i felt there was a learning curve with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wearing off A little over a year ago I redid my kitchen. Sanded, primed, painted with this product. Product does not wipe clean very well. Paint is coming off and leaving doors sticky. I fear I will have to do my kitchen again.

If using this for furniture, do you recommend applying a clear coat on top as well? If so, what clear coat would you recommend using? Thanks!

Asked by: Ken_Ca
Hi Ken. thanks for the question. After applying the Semi-Gloss Cabinet & Trim Paint a separate clear coat isn't needed. The paint will be very durable all on its own. Have a great day! -Ronald

Can this be customized with any colour from Behr selections? I noticed it doesn’t give an option online compared to the other paint lines. I’m trying to paint our laminate bathroom vanity cabinet but would like so in a different colour.

Asked by: Autumn
yes it can be tinted. However the most durable finish would be with it untinted.

Is this a satin (low gloss) finish and if not, what is it?

Asked by: Jpal
Hi there Jpal, thanks for the question. Our Satin Cabinet & Trim Enamel isn't considered low-gloss. Satin is more of a medium gloss. The Cabinet & Trim Enamel comes in satin & semi-gloss sheens. I've provided a link below with more information on what the different sheens look like. Have a great day! -Ronald https://www.behr.ca/consumer/products/compare-interior-paint-sheens

Are laminate cabinets the same as melamine?

Asked by: Denise
Hi Denise, thanks for the question. The coating on the laminate cabinets are a little bit different than what is on a melamine cabinet. If you are planning on using the Cabinet & Trim Enamel on melamine, you will want to scuff sand the surface first then prime with our Kitchen, Bath & Trim Primer. Laminate has more of a plastic coating so you would need to prime the cabinets with our Bonding Primer prior to applying the Cabinet & Trim Enamel. Good luck with painting your cabinets! -Ronald

Which finish would be better for Kitchen Cabinets when using Behr Premium Cabinet & Trim Interior Enamel Paint, the Semi-Gloss or the Satin? Also if I prime the cabinets first do I need to sand and vis versa?

Asked by: Ella
Hi Ella, Thanks for the question. Either the Satin or Semi-Gloss Cabinet & Trim Paint is a great choice for cabinets. Since the Semi-gloss has more of a sheen, it will make the surface easier to clean. It's recommended to use a primer first before applying the Cabinet & Trim Paint. If the cabinets are glossy, you would want to scuff sand them first to ensure the adhesion of the primer. Good luck with your cabinets! -Ronald

Hello. Can this cabinet paint be used on laminated cabinets? If not, could you recommend one? Thank you.

Asked by: dmfarney
Hi dmfarney - Thank you for your question! Our Cabinet & Trim Interior Satin Enamel can be used on laminate cabinets. Before painting, we recommend scuff sanding the surface, making sure your cabinets are clean and dry, then priming them with our Bonding Primer (https://www.homedepot.ca/product/behr-interior-exterior-bonding-primer-432-3-79l/1001621440) to ensure a long-lasting finish. Is this paint okay to use on all cabinets? we have wood doors for our cabinets and some end members are laminated wood they are not solid wood. would this paint work with laminate as well?

Asked by: Confirm
Hi Confirm. Thank you for your question. Yes, our Cabinet & Trim Enamel can be used on wood cabinets and laminate cabinets. Typically, we recommend priming first with our Kitchen, Bath & Trim Stain-Blocking Primer & Sealer No. 75. However, for the laminate areas, I recommended priming with our Bonding Primer No. 432 instead to help with adhesion to the slick laminate surface. Have a nice day! -Joni
