Rated 1 out of 5 by from Highly disappointed I bought a can of the Behr flat black spray paint from Home Depot. I thought Behr was a good brand and the price was reasonable. I used this on the knobs and window hardware for one of the rooms in my house. Previous rooms used a different, slightly more expensive spray paint and it worked beautifully. Unfortunately, Behr spray paint is tacky and not smooth or finished once dried. It's runny so there are drips, it's not opaque so you need multiple coats and since it's so tacky, particles stick to it. I'm probably going to need to buy a finishing spray or something to make the hardware usable (feels like sandpaper). Very disappointed. Never expect a product to work for you based off of a brand name.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love My Transformation! This product was amazing! It sprayed very easily and I did not experience any issues with a clogged tip (unlike other brands I've used). Very user friendly, no issues with runs or drips. Plus the color selection is unique! Leave it to Behr to come out with beautiful colors that are unique to the spray paint category. :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Long Recoat Time [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This spray paint is more expensive than normal spray paint and Behr is a great name in paint, so when I bought this to spray my light cans with, I thought I was buying the best possible option. First, it had a tough time sticking to the housing metal, but we got through that with the next coats. On the second face coat, there is a crazy amount of bubbling happening. It has been two days since I painted! I think this product would be great to use on other surfaces, but not only did I go through two cans of paint, I may need to buy eight new light cans :( Just disappointing that there isn't any warning about dry times on the can. It's a high quality spray, so you would think it would be relatively quick and if it isn't quick, I would have appreciated a warning. My project is halted now and what I thought was my final coat, is now the start of another project, trying to repair the damage. Two stars because I think it would be good on other projects, but my experience hasn't been great so far. Important to note that I use other Behr paints and love them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Takes close to 48 hours to completely dry on metal I went to buy camoflauge black Rust-Oleum because I wanted a flat black paint to finish up dresser hardware. I ran across Behr flat black as I was leaving the paint section. I love Behr wall paint so I thought I would give it a try. I started this project Saturday morning and now it is Monday and the project still isn't complete because the paint takes forever to dry. I had to redo one drawer pull yesterday morning because I touched it assuming it was dry. It has been 24 hours and the spray paint is still tacky. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU HAVE TIME CONSTRAINTS, THE PAINT DOES BOT DRY QUICKLY. This is probably why they did not add dry time to their directions. I can't believe Behr put out this sub par product. DO NOT BUY

Was better than we hoped. That's only one good coat. It honestly looks better in real life too. There's is a ghost stencils left but with another coat it'll hopefully be gone. Definitely not disappointed in this spary paint.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor spray nozzle As a general contractor, I try to use Behr as I've grown to trust the quality. Never used their spray cans. Building a simple herb planter box made of wood. Primed it with Behr waterproof. I shook the can for over 2 minutes. First spray came out uneven. Lots of large paint particles. I tried spraying in the dirt for 20 seconds thinking sediment had settled in the straw. Still sprayed very spotty and with large specs. Used it on one planter. Swapped the nozzle with Rust-Oleum nozzle for the 2nd planter and sprayed like a charm. Clean and even. If they update their nozzle I'll buy again, but for the meantime, I'm sticking to rust for my spray cans. Bummer because I know Behr makes better products than this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Obnoxious smell Used Behr gloss black paint + primer on a wooden chair. Looks great but the smell is overpowering even after it’s dry. Sprayed the chair outside on a table covered with a drop sheet. The table absorbed the smell as well; haven’t been able to bring it back into the house. When I tried, the paint smell filled the whole house. No idea when I’ll be able to use the actual chair! (It’s sitting in the basement) If you’re sensitive to paint fumes or need to use the item soon after painting, choose another brand!

I want a shine after I spray paint will it give me a shine or will I need to apply a shine clear coat over it ?

Hi katie - Thanks for your question! This product will dry to a glossy finish on it's own so applying a separate clear coat on top isn't necessary. Best - Sara
