Rated 1 out of 5 by from Couldn't last 1 month in winter I scrubbed , cleaned and added Binding primer (Behr No 880) then painted front steps with this. It only needed the first snow to completely peal off. 120 CAD and hours of work, pooof! It is not even uglier than it's original pure concrete and now I have to clean them and repeat with something new. See pictures and buy headaches for yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product - will use it again and again! In contrary to what others have written, this product is easy to roll when using the recommended heavy duty texture roller. Of course, it is a messy job and everything (floor/walls and room contents) needs to be covered before starting with this job. When complete, the texture on the ceiling is amazing. I personally applied this product when finishing some rooms in the basement. I will use it again and again. However, you go through a lot of this paint (for a roughly 140 square feet ceiling I needed two entire pails).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not easy to apply but looks good after finish I use this for a ceiling. I found it too runny for it to stick on a ceiling right out of the bucket. As it dry out more it get more easy to stick on the ceiling. It does get messy since it is hard to avoid dripping. I found that a looped roller does not work. After trying a few different method, I found that a roller with the shortest pile (hair) work best. It require quite some work to apply it so it is good for small area. The end result looks good so I am still happy as I only need to do it once. You can save some money on tools with this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slow but works I found the Ceiling Popcorn Texture Paint works ok but as others have stated, is messy as it is quite heavy and so drips off the roller. You can only roll a small section (like 5 or 6 inches) at a time. It is difficult to get it applied evenly so I'm thinking I will have to do a 2nd coat. I also found the the loop roller that Home Depot offers is completely useless so had to use a normal 10mm roller.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked great! Alright, the instructions on the container are a little misleading. If you read the product pamphlet at the store you will get some beneficial tips. First off, you can't use a regular paint tray to roll your roller in. Buy a 5 gallon pail and one of those mesh inserts for rolling. I also used two rollers while doing the job, the loop roller to put the product on and a semi-smooth roller to knock it down a bit. I used this stuff to finish a ceiling where I had knocked down a couple of walls and put up a beam. The transition is now seamless and I was able to match the texture perfectly. I had two 2 x 20 sections to do and was able to finish with one 2 gal tub with some left over. If you are using this for a whole ceiling I would say not to, rent a sprayer. But for smaller jobs its much cheaper to go this route. Now, this stuff is as messy as can be, it will drip and drop and fly all over, so if you're afraid of a mess don't use it. However, it's still less messy than using a texture sprayer. Patience is all you need to get a good result from this stuff. Have fun, wear coveralls.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible! Horrible, horrible, horrible! I don't think we can say that enough about this product. We opened the first bucket and it was so runny that it would not even stay on the ceiling... it just fell down. We even purchased the "special heavy texture roller" and that did not work at all. We tried suggestions from previous users about applying it with a trowel or adding ceiling paint to it... that does not work either. It ends up going on patchy and you get a clump of texture where you first started and nothing after a few rolls. We ended up slopping it on our ceiling and then scraping it all off once it dried a bit, to achieve an "orange peel" effect. In the end, we purchased additional regular ceiling paint and rolled it overtop of the texture that was left and then used a different style of texture roller to achieve a consistent and deeper "orange peel" effect. We will be returning the second pail that we purchased and never using this product again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth buying to make your house look new. Nice plain white colour and it dries up easily. Easy application.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hard to roll out I found this stuff very hard to roll so i added some white ceiling paint and then it rolled out real easy and got a very nice pop corn ceiling. very happy with it after thinning it out with the paint

Want to paint bathroom floor tiles. What is the drying time?

Asked by: April
I would use 2 coats of paint over 24 hours. Use a fan. Then 2 coats over 24 hours to seal the tile with a coat of a clear, water based urethane sealer. Total 2 days.

who rents the texture sprayers?

Asked by: Anonymous
Check with your local Home Depot for the rental equipment available. Please keep in mind that Behr's Texture paints can not be sprayed. Behr recommends applying the Behr texture paint with a roller, brush, broom, sponge or trowel.

Bathroom Use

We used this product in the bathroom, can we paint it? Do we have to paint it? I was worried about the humidity of the tub. I really just want to leave it as is...
Asked by: Anonymous
For increased durability, we recommend applying a primer such as the Behr Primer no. 07501 and applying a coat of paint over the Ceiling Popcorn Texture No. 55902.

The reviews seem to be for a different textured paint product and not this smooth porch paint. I want to know if I can use this Behr porch and patio acrylic paint on laundry area concrete basement floor (lots of use) and what primer is recommended?

Asked by: DIYGal
Hi DIYGal, thank you for your question. Our smooth Low-Lustre Enamel Porch & Patio Floor Paint is an excellent choice for your laundry area concrete floor. It provides a durable finish that withstands scuffing, which is great for high-traffic surfaces. To ensure proper adhesion, I recommend priming the surface with our Concrete & Masonry Bonding Primer (No. 436). Have a great day! -Lina

can this be tinted

can this textured paint be tinted, is there already white paint in it, and do i have to prime drywall first?
Asked by: Anonymous
Behr No. 55902 Popcorn Texture Paint is a texture paint that is coloured white, so it is a paint product on its’ own. Behr No. 55902 can be applied to new drywall that has been primed and allowed to dry for the recommended amount of time prior to applying the texture paint. Behr No. 55902 cannot be tinted, but can be primed with Behr No. 75 Enamel Undercoater and paint a different color once the texture paint has been allowed to dry for 24-48 hours.
