There are streaks and this paint is so thick it gums up quickly. I even bought an expensive paint brush but that didn't help any!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 'Solid' Product During the past 4+ years, since retiring to PEI from Ontario, we have renovated a Century-old home in Long Creek. We also have reshingled two barns. Both of these barns AND our home have been stained with Behr House and Fence Solid Stain. Believe me, we've gone through many gallons of stain. We co-ordinated the colours using one of the Behr paint/stain colour swatch cards - our choices were Granite Boulder/exterior doors; Squirrel/barns; Dusty Mountain/house and Black Bean/all the shutters and accessories. The floor of our wrap-around front porch will be stained with Behr Solid Deck stain (Terra Cotta). All the white trim/railings done with the same product in white. We have been extremely happy with this product because of the quality, ease of application and durability of lasting for the next 10+ years. The colours look terrific together - the comments we have received from friends and neighbours have been very complimentary. We are thinking of eventually selling our present home and rebuilding. Of course we will finish the exterior of our next shingled home with Behr Stain.

Can this paint be used to paint a wooden picnic table?

Yes, I used it to paint the interior wood walls of a greenhouse. The gloss reflects the sunlight and has no signs of deterioration. Painted a year ago.

How to re-stain a deck ?

We started with a new deck and a cedar oil treatment. About 5 years later, we applied a latex solid stain. Now it needs to be re-stained yet again. I loved the look of the cedar-oil treatment and want to go back to that finish. What are the steps involved ? Thanks !!!!!

Behr's House and Fence stain is a water based coating. Behr does not have an oil base stain available, to assure adhesion it would be recommended to follow the manufacturers application and preparation directions of the coating you select you apply on your project.

Behr No. 02001 House and Fence Stain will cover an area of 200-400 square feet per gallon, which would mean that a 5 gallon container will cover between 1,000-2,000 square feet, depending on the porosity of the surface.

Hi Corey, thank you for your question. The Premium Plus Exterior Paint is not the best paint for aluminum. You would need to use a separate primer first. Instead, you can use Ultra Scuff Defense Exterior Paint or Marquee Exterior Paint. These can be used directly on metal without having to use a separate primer. Marquee is our best exterior paint with the best dirt and fade resistance. Have a great day! -Giovanna
