Hi, would this be a good paint for painting furniture? I would be painting white pine mostly for a nice farmhouse look. Would I need to add a primer or would a few coats of this protect the wood for long-lasting, & guard against bleed through?

Asked by: DavidbyFaith
Hi DavidbyFaith, thank you for your question. Yes, our Ultra Paint can be used on furniture. If you're concerned with wood knots and tannins, it would be a good idea to use a separate primer, such as the Multi-Surface Primer and Sealer No. 436 first. Good luck with your project! -Giovanna

can it be used on concrete wall?

Asked by: dplaczek
Hi dplaczek - Thank you for your question! This product would be a great option for a concrete wall. We recommend making sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of any chalky residue before painting to ensure a long-lasting finish. Best - Sara

Hi there, I'm repainting a fiberglass boat that has some body repair patches. Would this be a good paint to use and if not what would you recommend? It's only for day use in fresh water. Thank you

Asked by: Brianetc
Hi Brianetc - Thank you for your question! Sorry to say, we don't recommend applying this product to a fiberglass boat. We currently don't have a different product we can recommend, but you may want to reach out to your local Home Depot for some suggestions. They may be able to point you in the direction of a marine based coating that will adhere properly to fiberglass and hold up to the amount of water a boat is exposed to. Best of luck with your project! - Sara

is this primer/paint good for pressure treated wood?

Asked by: Roman
Hello Roman, Thanks for writing in. Yes, the Behr Premium Plus Ultra is a great product for pressure treated wood on vertical surfaces or horizontal surfaces without exposure to foot traffic. Pressure treated wood should dry 6-8 weeks before applying a new coating. I hope this information helps and good luck with your project. Best, Roxana N.

What is the drying time for the paint? I want to paint an exterior door, and need to know how long before I can put the handle/lock back on. Thank you

Asked by: sylvie
Hi sylvie, thanks for writing in with your question. Our Ultra Exterior Paint will dry to touch in two hours and can be recoated in four hours. I suggest waiting as long as possible before putting the handle/lock back on. If possible, allow the paint to dry for a day. The coating will fully cure in 30 days. Have a great day! -Giovanna

Can this paint be used on Vinyl siding? If not, what is the preferred paint?

Asked by: cowtown2102
Hi cowtown2102, Thank you for your question. Our Premium Plus Ultra Paint can be used on vinyl siding. However, make sure the color you select is either the same or lighter the color on the siding. Darker colors absorb more heat and can cause the vinyl to warp. I hope this was helpful. -Edith

Can this be used to paint a steel entrance door?

Asked by: Justw9
Hi Justw9! Thanks for writing in. Yes, the Ultra can be used on steel. If the door is unpainted, just make sure to roughen up the slick surface with sand paper or a wire brush, wash it clean and recoat once dry. Best of luck on your project! Sincerely, Jeanette P.

Do I need to scuff the surface if I applied Danish Oil as my last coat?

I have a 20 year old front door that I am refinishing, I sanded and filled the gaps then applied 2 coats of Danish Oil which has dried for 3 days. Now I want to finish it with Spar Varnish. Do I need to do any other surface prep before applying the Varnish?
Asked by: Anonymous
So long as the surface is clean and the oil has not created a high gloss surface, then the Spar Varnish can go directly over the oil, and it should adhere just fine to the surface. If there is a gloss to the surface, then it would be best to scuff sand the surface with medium grit sandpaper before applying the varnish.
