Rated 3 out of 5 by from ok. with limitations. Bessey corner clamps are relatively inexpensive, but have limitations. I could not successfully join 3" tall pieces. The short clamp face would align and clamp well at the bottom, but the upper edges bowed out, requiring a couple of long trigger clamps to squeeze the tops over into alignment. Also, I could not use four clamps to glue up a box 6" x 6"...the base of the clamps ran into each other. Minimum width to use four clamps at the same time is probably @ 8". But they did do the job without expense of pricier, more versatile clamp sets or devices. If you were predominately making picture frames or such, these clamps should work well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and effective Despite not being terribly well made, the clamp accurately holds two pieces of wood at 90 degrees for gluing and/or nailing. I'm using it to make picture frames using moldings I made using a router mounted on a home made table extension for my HD table saw. The jaws on the clamp are rather small at less than two by one half inches, but they seem to hold the wood adequately. One of the two screws of the clamp has an incorrectly cut thread, so the jaw oscillates as it is closed, but it still holds well because there is enough looseness between the jaw and the thread to allow the jaw to clamp the wood fully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart design This clamp makes a nice addition to my wood shop. It works for both 90 degree joints and T joints. (I guess you could use it for X joints too...) The nice part is that it adjusts to different thickness of boards automatically. Both the front and rear jaws pivit. Great when building face frames. Another nice feature are the clamps that let you clamp the corner clamp to a surface to keep it in place. The clamps can be used at the front or rear of the clamp, or one front and one rear, depending on what you are clamping it to. This is a quality clamp - just what I have come to expect from Bessey!

I built a small learning tower for my daughter using this and it made the joints so much better than they would have been without it. I only wish it was made in the US but hey, it worked.

In the store they seemed a little flimsy but in practice they were plenty solid enough. They helped me perfectly square up sides while doing some pocket holes joinery. The red pads are big enough that the wood is not marred when you clamp. The one thing I would improve is the feel of the little bars that turn the clamp cranks. After much use in a single session they start to hurt my fingers.

Tools have two facets: their design and functionality and then the art the user may of may not have. There's nothing like fool-proof tools. Having said that, bough this clamps for close to $10, needed squaring frames for stretching canvas. Great value for the price. I will use them mainly for light to very light duty framing. Again, great value for the price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Corner clamps I read other reviews on how this clamp would break on them, so I didn't force it, I used other clamps to help get it in position, then I would tighten my clamps up, they worked great ,

How wide a piece will this item fit?

Can I join/glue two 5.5" wide pieces of cedar laying flat with this? Is it wide enough?
Asked by: DIYer
No. Each side of the clamp opens about 3". You would not be able to fit a 5.5" board in the clamp.

Would clamp work for a small rectangular picture frame (deck house for model ship.

i.e.; put two completed glued 90 degree pieces together.
Asked by: Hank10257
It would work for that yes, however the flaw with the clamp is that the screws protrude up into the area where your stock rests. I would advise using a different clamp that does not have a design flaw.

Could this clamp be used to join 2 pieces 24 inches wide at a 45 degree angle if i put a clamp on each end.

Asked by: Professor
No 24 inches is way too wide. Length doesn't matter but width does.

How many clamps should I get for framing to make stretcher bars for canvas' 1,2,4?
Asked by: Tammy
4 would work best one for each corner to speed up the process. 1 can be used but will only beable to do one corner at a time obviously.

Can you use this to hold joists? I'm making garage shelving and last week when I did it myself I had a hard time holding the joist and then drilling them into place. I plan on using a Kreg for pocket holes I just want something to hold the joists while I screw them in.
