Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fails from exposure to UV light, hail Easy to install, affordable, stops bird landing - what could go wrong? After 1-2 years in the sun, the plastic yellows and becomes brittle. Where I live, we get hail storms every year. Hail breaks the spikes, which leads to clean-up in the lawn (hard to find the darn things). Broken spikes still on the roof - with lots of gaps - are an eyesore too. Now I have to figure out how to remove this and get a steel one instead. Best avoided.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scares the birds away I have these placed along the edge of my balcony (tip: if you're renting, attach them with plant wire like I did and then you don't have to worry about damage from the glue!). I had a pigeon problem and this keeps them off my balcony completely! They are also SUPER durable. I live on the 11th floor and get all the wind and weather up there and they don't break at all.

We used stick on velcro to attach them instead of glue because they need to be removable when shrinkwrapping the boat for winter storage. This worked well and pleased to report no more birds or their deposits.
