The first time I used it the grass was long overdue for a cut and both batteries ran out with just one strip of grass left. But a week later I cut the grass, trimmed and edged, without having to use the second battery. Using it couldn’t be easier, it’s light and effortless to switch functions. But remember this is not a mower, it’s a trimmer with a mower accessory. Which means you need to take your time cutting and go over some areas more than once to get the missed blades of grass. If you think you’re going to zip over in one pass and it’ll be perfect, you’ll be disappointed. But if you think you’re goin to find better value for your money you’ll be even more disappointed.

Took 5 hours to recharge the battery from total discharge. I suspect one battery should take care of the lawn under normal conditions, leaving the second battery for trimming. The instructions aren't that helpful but if you have patience and take care, putting the two major pieces together shouldn't be too frustrating. And you'll need a screwdriver (Phillips). Most important: it works. Appears to be just two cutting heights. Haven't used the trimmer yet but my son has the same unit and his does a good job. Curious to see how long the trimmer cord lasts. So far: recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great little mower! Very user friendly. Love the ability to use as a regular lawn mower or weed trimmer. Batteries last long on a single charge. My lawn is almost 100 sq ft and I can get about 5 cuts from one charge. Mower is lightweight and easy to move. Removing and attaching the weed trimmer is straightforward. My only negative comment is about the height settings. If you prefer a longer cut this is not the mower for you. Even using the highest setting the grass is cut almost too short for my personal preference. The lowest setting cut it nearly down to the dirt. The highest setting leaves about 2 inches of grass.

It constantly extends itself and needs to be trimmed. We find we need to trim it off MANY times as we cut our very small lawn. We thought it was just the spool - but the same issue was happening after buying a brand new spool. The other issues is that one of the batteries doesn't work well - only stays charged for a very short time. Love the IDEA of this thing, but don't waste your money!

I have a small but very nasty lawn--lots of tight spaces, cliff-hangers, uneven terrain, etc. Looked at this and hoped it might alleviate my misery. And it did. Looking at the two puny batteries provided I imagined I might get through the worst areas and then go back to my corded mower and trimmer for the remaining. The first battery pretty much finished everything! The mower is like using a vacuum cleaner--easy to push and move from one area to the next. And the trimmer combo means I don't have to drag two machines everywhere I go. The lawn appearance is not perfect, but it suffices for the girls I go out with (exclusively, my wife lol)--if you're not looking for the Norman Rockwell painting perfect lawn finish, this will do just fine. Of course, I understand that cordless comes with battery replacement, but seeing as I only manage to mow my lawn once or twice a month at best (tho I might be out there more now that mowing the lawn is so much easier) I'm expecting the batteries to hang in there for awhile. Basically--couldn't be happier.

I didn’t want to carry a heavy lawnmower through my house so I saw this as a great option. It’s absolutely perfect for homes with small yards! I find I can do both the back and front yard with only one battery as long as the grass isn’t to long. The only con is that it doesn’t cut well at all when grass is wet or when grass gets to long (but that’s more my fault). Otherwise it’s great and almost feels like you’re vacuuming your grass instead of cutting it. ;)

Is this easy to assemble? What tools do I need for assembly ?

Hello, I have a few questions: 1. How long does the machine operate with one battery? 2. How long does it take to charge the battery? 3. My front yard is bout 500 Sq feet and the back yard is about 600 sq feet. Will this product work for this size?

We get about 1.200 sq ft on a charge (one battery) I always have one charging while using the other. Works really well- never regretted getting rid of mower! (Have to think of it like vacuuming the lawn instead of mowing - size, weight, etc is more similar. )

How many mows/trims from a 30'spool -using a B&D mtc220-will I get? 500 sq foot yard.

We have one of the MTC220 cordless mower trimmer edgers by Black and Decker and need to buy a refill trimmer line cartridge.  They don't seem to have them in the store or online.  Is there a product code number you can direct us to at Home Depot?
