Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more leaky cottage roof I applied Roof Seal Fibered Roof Coating on my Gulf Island cottage and pump-house over the existing asphalt rolled roofing that was several years old. The pump-house roof had been leaking chronically for quite some time despite efforts to patch it and a leak had started inside the cottage. During warm, dry weather in August I applied two coats of Roof Seal using an old paint roller and an extension pole. Prior to starting I had cleaned off all the moss, allowed time for roof surface to become completely dry, and swept all debris off the roof. Two 18.9 litre cans delivered two coats to roughly 600 square feet of roof area (the product goes further if used in warm weather, and I felt it was absorbed better). I still have about 1/4 of a can left over. The product dried quite quickly and I allowed a few days between coats so that it could cure. It's now October and there's been a lot of heavy rain since I finished the project. The pumphouse ceiling is dry for the first time since I've owned the place and I have had no more leaks inside the cottage.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works' but wayyyy to expensive now. I bought it for 40 (16 buckets) for 2000 sqft and had 4 to spare. Almost impossible with a broom. I suggest using a squeegee. Do a few thin layers instead of one thick one, because the thick parts are still not dry and it has been 18 months now!

As well as the tops of the joists before laying deckboards. Amazing stuff! Dried to the touch very fast Left a nice clean look. Best thing is... any water sitting on the joists won’t rot! Can’t go wrong with the price either!

Can I apply Black Knight Fibered Roof Coating Sealant (BQ390070) over asphalt roll roofing areas previously sealed (and cured) with Henry Stop Leak 100% Silicone spray sealer (481).

Hi, Thank you for your question. No, the BQ390 roof coating will not adhere to the Stop Leak Silicone, the only thing that will adhere to the Stop Leak is more silicone.

I have applied Gardner Wet R Dri to repair leaks. How long do I need to wait for it to cure before applying Black Knight Fibered Roof Coating Sealant? Also, I can't find a technical data sheet for proper preparation, installation and coverage for 900sft

According to Gardner Wet-R Dri specs you are to apply the product when surface temperatures are between 50°F and 120°F and you should let the product cure for a minimum of 30-60 days. I couldnt find technical data based on the Black Knight product either however I do recall all information for application on the side of the can. I covered my entire trailer rood which is roughly a 34ft trailer using the 18.9L product at roughly 1/8" thick. Hope this helps.

Hello, I have a flat slightly sloped asphalt sheet roof. There is one small section showing signs of deterioration in the asphalt surface. I was thinking of using this product to coat over the area to extend the life. Would this product be suitable?

Yes, you can apply it in the colder weather, the surface needs to be clean, dry and frost free. Best to store the product at room temperature for 24 hours before applying in cold weather.
