Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works better than flex seal spray We used flex seal on a leak around a roof vent and it didn't work. Slathered this stuff on and the leaking has totally stopped. Held up through a few very heavy rains so far, no signs of damage to it yet. Easy to slap on. Not sure how it is super long term, but i think it's definitely a good stop-gap until we get a new roof in a couple years.

Would this work to patch up a Leaking Torch On Flat Roof? If not, which product should I use to fix the leak?

Hi, Thank you for your question, The vendor have confirmed that all of the Black Knight Roof products could be used for this application, however some will work better than others depending on if the repair is a split or tear or open seam, or if you are trying to coat an area to fill in pin holes. Also, the vendor have confirmed that Black Knight Severe Weather Roof Repair would work best.

Black Knight Wet/Dry is a good roof repair mastic that will perform well when left exposed to sun, wind, rain and snow. If you are looking for the BEST performance then you should choose Black Knight Severe Weather Roof Repair. It will last the longest.

Can you use this on a flat aluminum roof - small area over front porch 10 x 5 feet?

This is an asphaltic-based product intended for emergency patching of roof leaks or sealing of roofing sheet or roofing material joints or adhering loose shingle edges. It is not UV stable so would deteriorate prematurely - drying out, shrinking, & cracking. It is suitable only for short term use over a large outside area if it is exposed to direct or indirect sunlight outdoors. Reliably Perhaps 6 months to a year. Smaller thicker repair patches could last longer. It will eventually break down. I would not use it for overcoating a general roof flat area and it would seem redundant if the roof deck is aluminum sheet. If the aluminum joints are leaking it would be better to lift the joints and seal underneath. For a general surface coating I would recommend a reflective aluminized roofing coating such as Henry's Fibered Aluminum Roof Coating. With the aluminum powder in the mix it is UV resistant. But if the overlaid aluminum sheet joints are leaking this surface application will not seal them unless they are lifted and filled with the Wet/dry asphalt product before applying the aluminized roof product.
