Rated 5 out of 5 by from I purchased this tool to cut a 2x3 hole in... I purchased this tool to cut a 2x3 hole in my asphalt driveway and to loosen up hard packed fill. I wanted to investigate what was causing sunken spots, divots/dents. It turns out they were collapsed chipmunk tunnels, those little buggers. Anyway, I saw a couple YouTube videos of this tool being used on asphalt and I found the hammer mode does indeed work well. One could use a diamond blade in a circular saw to cut the asphalt, but then there’s that hard pack fill to deal with, and tamping after. The small one inch Chisel cuts through asphalt like butter. The wider asphalt tool takes a little more effort, but once I got the hang of rocking it back and forth, it cut well. My driveway asphalt was only 2-3 inches thick in that area. The tamper tool is about 5x5 and tamps small areas nicely. The tool is heavy as expected, but not too heavy for demolition work. Dunno about horizontal drilling with it. It has the nice features you’d expect for the price, excellent vibration isolation, locking trigger, easy tool swap (slide collar - remove/replace). The aux handle spins to any position, easy to rotate tool orientation, nice carrying case, relatively long power cord. It has variable speed, but I only used it at the highest hammer speed as recommended for this application. Slower speeds are more useful for some drilling applications I think. You will need to use ear and eye protection and a sturdy set of gloves. I’ve also used the spade tool to loosen up hard packed earth for a 6x10 patio. Much easier than swinging a pick, but the tool weight can make the job tiring. It busts up rocks nicely. One inch plus tree roots not so much. From reading the manual, it looks like it is not easily serviceable, need to send it to a service center for just about anything as well as the routine checks and lubrication. For everyday use this hammer just needs a bit of grease (provided) on the tool itself. I have a couple mid level Bosch tools in my tool box and they seem to be pricy but durable and hold up well to abuse, unlike the entry models. This one seems similarly well built. As noted, you won't get full power until broken in for an hour or so, so be patient before judging the power.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a Milwaukee hammer drill and it quit halfway through the 1st hole in concrete block. I purchased the Bosch hammer drill and it went through the block like a hot knife through butter. I drilled 10 5/8 inch holes in no time. The only downside is you need SDS bits in this drill so the multitude of bits I have are not useable.

Can this drill through blue stone

Were doing a fence install and its all in blue stone can it handle that?
Asked by: Timmy
The SDS-max Rotary Hammer, like 11264EVS will drill through concrete and masonry. For blue stone, I suggest to use a standard hammer drill or drill/driver with a diamond tipped bit. For further assistance, contact us at 1-877-BOSCH99 (1-877-267-2499) from Mon-Fri 7A-7P CST.

Can I run this off of a Honda 2000i inverter generator?

Asked by: Butcher77
I did. I started with the 2000i + the companion. Then I tried it with the 2000i alone. You'll hear the generator lug just bit when the drill starts, but if you keep it running, no problems.

how to change cord at drill

Asked by: Don
Drop it off at a bosh dealer, don't try to piece a cord together, it will work for a while but not worth getting someone hurt over a 10 dollar new cord installed correctly. Everyone thinks they are electricians...lol
