Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design I’ve had this saw about two years and just use it occasionally for home use in my shop. A few weeks back it began making a horrendous noise and smoke started coming out of the dust port. I shut it off and rolled it out of my shop. Last night I tore the motor down to see what might be going on. What I found was pretty disappointing. The armature bearing had completely seized up in turn wiping out the motor housing, armature, and field. Of course it’s out of warranty so I’ll be spending at least $150 to replace the components. I can’t tell if the armature bearing had a seal or not, it almost appears as though it was just a shielded bearing which I can’t understand with the environment that the bearing resides in. Certainly if it was just shielded sawdust found its way in rather quickly and dried up the grease. Pretty disappointed in this piece of Bosch equipment, in total honesty this saw hasn’t seen more than a couple hours max of runtime and that’s being generous. I tried to post pictures but it keeps throwing an error.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Raising and lower blade is very difficult. I bought this about 6 months ago and it has become very difficult to raise and lower the blade. I’ve used my Shop vac and blown out the inside, sprayed graphite on the drive shaft, with no satisfaction. I’ve cleaned it and tried oil. That really didn’t work. I would not recommend buying any Bosch tools.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Miter Gauge I bought this saw a few years ago and from day 1 - I noticed the slop in the track for the miter gauge. It is impossible to cut a true line as the gauge slips to the right or left as it is pushed through the saw. It's hard for me to believe that Bosch would manufacture the table with a track wider than the arm of the miter gauge but that is what they did. I have been applying a "fix" with layers of metal tape of the sides of the tracks. That fix gives me a few hours of better performance. I cannot find a gauge that accurately fits the track. For rough construction work the problem is not particularly noticeable, but for any type of finish work - the problem is VERY noticeable. I wish I had purchased another saw/

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Engineering and Capabilities I was given this saw as a gift and have been extremely impressed by the level of detailed engineering put into the tool. It has performed flawlessly and so far I haven’t found something it can’t do.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trunion Adj painfull & Miter Slots too wide I bought one last week. I'm not impressed with the factory preset adjustments and/or how they survive shipping. The blade was 0.020 out of alignment in 8" with the miter slots. The wrench supplied won't fit in the rear access hole to get to one of the rear cap screws. Why can't Bosch supply the wrench they ship with the TS1016 outfeed table instead (it fits through the access hole). Moving the rear is hit or miss. Far easier to adjust the front as a large flat blade screwdriver can be used to gently move the front from either side. The miter guide slots on my unit measure 0.762 (0.012 over) and the slide measures 0.747 (0.003 under). This means that I can't slides between this saw and other tools unless I use adjustable slides and readjust them each time I move them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 1 Year 3 Weeks - Dead The gravity rise stand is very nice as well as the features this saw offers. 1 year and 3 weeks after purchase the rear bearing froze and melted the motor housing. I know two other people who totally abuse and neglect theirs and theirs is still going strong. I just don't get it - I took very good care of it. It's cleaned during and after every use, wipe and blow any saw dust away. I've always used dust collection but somehow the most important bearing goes out killing the machine. The cost of replacement parts are such that it makes more sense to buy new. I wish Bosch would make it right because this should have never happened so soon. I'm looking at other brands, but all my jigs are built for this machine. Just heart breaking to be saw-less with so many projects to do. I would still recommend to others, even though I must have gotten a lemon.
