Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks great but the Microwave is unreliable The unit looks great. High points for a sleek design. Touch sensitive controls are laggy in responding. so you end up overshooting the temperature or timer settings. No biggie. Caution: Bosch is unreliable. Our second unit also failed quickly Bosch said unit cannot be fixed. It is a single unit, you have to discard the Oven and Microwave and get a new one. Failed in about 15 months of moderate use. Make sure you have very good warranty with replacement/labor if you choose to get it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bosch should get rid of this model! The unit was brand new and the microwave died shortly after the warranty. We had to pay money (prorated) to get a replacement. After waiting 4 weeks for a replacement, we thought we were out of the woods. Wrong! After a mere 6 months of rare usage, the microwave just died! In addition, the range's dial skips from 250 to 350 and then back to 275. What is happening to Bosch and their standard? I sure hope someone will answer my email and resolve this promptly; unlike last time.

After just 2 years, the light display died, making it impossible to read the display - apparently this is a common issue. 2. At the same time, the turntable had also stopped working and we had to replace the motor. 3. The turntable again began to falter in just another 2 years, working only periodically. 4. During that time, one of the springs broke on the door. 5. After less than 6 years, the microwave stopped heating entirely. As the oven and microwave is one unit, we cannot simply replace just the microwave, so had to get it repaired. We called one of the approved Bosch repair companies in our area, and we're advised the following items needed replacing: - magnetron (should last the average home with normal use around 20 years); motor (AGAIN); springs for the door; switches - TOTAL COST: $1000 The repairman told us it seems we received a "lemon", but we're the ones left having to pay for it, not Bosch.

After just two years, the light display died, making it impossible to read the display - apparently this is a common issue and to Bosch's credit, it was repaired by them at no cost to us. 2. However, at the same time, the turntable had also stopped working, but Bosch would not take responsibility for this issue, so we had to pay around $200 to replace the motor. 3. The turntable again began to falter in just another two years, working only periodically. We lived with it, as we didn't want to fork out another $200 if we didn't need to. 4. During that time, one of the springs broke on the door. Again, lived with it as it didn't impact the functionality of the microwave. Just another example of poor quality issues. 5. After less than six years, the microwave stopped heating entirely. As the oven and microwave is one unit, we cannot simply replace just the microwave, so had to get it repaired. We called one of the approved Bosch repair companies in our area, and we're advised the following items needed replacing: - magnetron (should last the average home (we're a family of 3) with normal use around 20 years) - motor (for the second time) - springs for the door - switches (used to signal to the unit that the door is closed so it will turn on, amongst other things) TOTAL COST: $1000 The repairman told us he believes we received a "lemon". Based on several other reviews, it seems we're not the only ones, and/or Bosch's quality is simply subpar (the only positive reviews appear to be from those who've owned the unit for a very short time). Either way, we're the ones who are left having to pay (literally) for the lack of quality, not Bosch.

Had to call with 1.5 hours wait to find out what happened and finally spoke to a real professional person and resolved the situation. I replaced my double oven with this awesome combo wall oven it came with with an easy installation and operating instructions. The oven and microwave size is what I expected. The overall quality is excellent. Pls note installation is not included I had my handyman helped with this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Oven is mostly good but the microwave is annoying! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) It's a good thing I'm tall. Pulling hot things over a pull down door could be tricky otherwise. I find this unit just ok. Like many other people commented, the oven timer develops a life of its own when you try to use it. It's so annoying that I've just stopped using it. Basically, you can have 5 minutes or 57 minutes with only one or two extra presses of the button. Very annoying and makes absolutely no sense. Also, the timer sound is very very quiet, and the fan on the microwave will continue after the ping, so you think it's still doing its thing. Not the case! The LED screen on the microwave is basically impossible to read, especially if there's any light on it. The oven seems to cook well, thank goodness. For the first few weeks we used it, the microwave would just stop working and it would tell us to call some 1-800 number. Weird but ok...

However, I was disappointed that the lower overpn light burnt out in less than 6 months (I've had cheaper ovens with light bulbs that lasted for years). More concerning is that in just over two years, the display light panel on the microwave started dying, so that we can barely make out the timer and temperature settings, and can't see the microwave modes at all. I have no idea how much it will cost to replace it, but I'm guessing it's expensive. Another area of concern is that in the last few months, the microwave turntable goes through periods of not turning at all. All of the above mentioned issues are items that were never a problem with our previous, far less expensive appliances.

Hi Does the 500 series microwave and the 800 series speed oven both have a stainless interior? What is the best way to clean food splatter in the microwave and speed oven? Does the microwave and the speed oven pull-down door have a pop-up latch in the top corners of the door?

Q1: Stainless interior back panel and oven rocks. The interior sides are blue. Q2: clean with soap and warm water after cooking while the oven is still warm not hot. Use microwave splatter free cover when microwaving. Wipe off splatters with soap and water after each use. Q3. No pop- up latch.

Can Microwave be installed under the oven?

Hi Nick. Thank you for your question. The 500 Series Combination Wall Oven and Microwave are designed to be installed with the microwave above the oven. Per the Installation Guide the brackets attach to the oven to secure the two as the combo unit. The wall oven is much heavier than the microwave.

If the microwave fails---can it be replaced alone---or do you need to replace the oven and microwave combo? Microwaves tend to wear out faster then ovens---so looking down the line, if you can replace just the microwave--that would help with ocst.
