It sat in the house until the kitchen was reno's were completed in the summer of 2017. We had the unit installed and right from day one we noticed that the display was dimly lit. Unfortunately, the manufacturer's warranty ran out by 7 days. Anyways here we are in the fall of 2019 and the display just died. We got 2 years of functionality for 2 thousand dollars. I guess I should be grateful that it lasted for 2 years. While it worked it was fantastic and it was totally worth 5 stars, however, a 2-year life expectancy makes it worth only 2 stars for long term reliability.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor design and manual Am happy with rest of my Bosch kitchen, but the Speed Oven leaves a lot to be desired. The design puts forth only a feeble ring even if set up to highest setting. The preheat bars are barely visible even if set up to highest setting. As a former technical writer, the manual makes assumptions on the part of the user and therefore is missing steps. Writers should be advised to test every one of their instructions and not assume the user knows anything. I am very disappointed with this unit and hope that it might be replaced with a redesign.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A microwave oven with major quality issues! I am very disappointed in the quality of this appliance, and some of its functionality. After 3 years of mild use (maybe once per day), the control buttons have rubbed off, and the LCD display is unreadable. The LCD and the motherboard failure seem to be common problems with this microwave model, after reading a number of reviews on-line. The button issue - not sure what to say. It is very annoying. Unlike the matching oven, assembled in the USA, this microwave was Made in Shunde - China. Another issue which is quite annoying is that the alarm bell is so quiet, that it is practically useless. Another poor design choice. I was expecting a lot more from a Bosch product, and thus would certainly not recommend this model to anyone. I have serious concerns about the entire brand, too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks good, stopped working after 10 months, Bought unit because it is saving space, worked well for about 10 months then stopped working because of it tripped the house breaker each time we closed the door panel. Tech thought it was the micro switch, now he thinks it is the computer board. The timer alarm is barely audible and can't be adjusted. Unit gets condensation easily which causes some rust spots inside that are difficult to clean. The unit looks good though but I would not buy it again.

The door latching and safety switch system will fail quickly. My failed in month 13 of our 12 month warranty. I've replaced the switch several times but it keeps failing. It may be that the cheap plastic parts are warping and causing the switches to not sequence correctly, it may be that the massive flex in the door triggers the switches in a wrong sequence. Either way, many have had this problem and you will too probably.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have built or remodeled several homes and I have always installed all Bosch appliances and been very happy with them. This is the exception to that rule. The oven is only 1 year and 7 months old and has totally died. I am extremely disappointed - especially after reading all of the reviews which suggest that this product has had quality issues for several years. There are also several glaring design flaws - the microwave is very deep and difficult to clean. The option for a side opening door is a must. The control panel lighting is so faint it is difficult to read and the alarm is barely audible. This is a poor product and design for such a good company.

Was great while it worked but 2 weeks ago (out of warranty by 8 mos.) and it's dead. Display died, tripped home circuit breaker. Had electrician check it. It's on own breaker and each time he would plug in, breaker would trip again. Read reviews on internet and am broken-hearted to see this is a VERY common problem. Have had intermittent problems with ice maker and Bosch service man came for range problems. Sad, sad, sad. Extended warranties are prohibitively expensive and each only 4 yrs max - no lifetime options. Thanks, Bosch.

We had a local technician try to repair it - he ordered new control panel parts, etc. - but he couldn't get it repaired. This is frustrating because it seems to be happening to a lot of people where it stops working right after the warranty expires.

The cutout specs say 28 1/2? wide by 19 1/4? high. I have an opening of 28 1/2? wide by 20? high. The width looks perfect, but my cutout height is 3/4? higher than the product?s 19 1/4? cutout measurement. What?s recommended given the 3/4? gap in height

Hi, today my HMC80251UC/01 lost power out of nowhere. No sounds or lights. Im guessing there is an internal fuse that needs to be replaced? No house breakers were tripped. It's built in and the combo Bosch oven below it has power and works fine.
