The Gardner Bender Cable Boss Staple Gun is a professional grade cable staple gun able to secure both 120V and low-volt cable from the same tool. A reversible cable guide designed into the tool accommodates 3 sizes of Cable Boss staples, 5/16 in, 3/8 in and 1/2in. Simply select the staple size, insert the guide with the proper staple side "out" and the staple guide ensures full insertion of the staple into the wood without damage to the cable insulation on round and flat NM, Coax, Voice/Data and Low Volt cable. This tool features rugged construction able to survive a 10 ft drop and an ergonomic handle design with comfort grip areas for 2-handed operation and a bonus rear guide for added cable control to reduce cable twisting during installation. The easy trigger force and lever action requires 55 pounds of pressure and a flat surface to ensure optimal staple installation. An integrated staple refill window to view remaining staples makes it easy to see how many staples remain in the unit before you head over to the job.

The staples are spring loaded but when you get about halfway through a set of staples the spring doesn't have enough pressure to force the staples out. So what happens is you start firing blanks and the staples get jammed. I purchased it and used it to hang my Christmas lights. After I was done this year I smashed the stapler into the ground and threw it away. Felt great (it was my 2nd year using this method so it was too old to return).

After a few hundred stapes, a part fell out which I could not reinstall on the job site. Took it home and partiality disassembled it. No luck. Just threw it in the garbage.

This is a must-have for overhead work. Only improvement I'd like to see, is better reinforcement for the handle. It tends to flex if not gripped close to the front. However I'd buy another one if I lost this one!

This staple gun works pretty well if you are working from a standing position on the floor. Working from a ladder stapling romex cable to rafters with this tool will quickly turn you into a sinner! After a 20% failure rate, I returned to driving staples with my hammer. I bought this tool the last time that I was in Richmond but I live 56 miles from the Salisbury HD it would cost me 3 hours and $25.00 in gas to return this tool to the store. I have learned my lesson and I have a paperweight with a handle!
