Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Little Compressor that Could... This compressor packs a punch in a small package. Very well built, excellent packaging and is assembled south of the border vs in Asia. Noise factor is amazingly quiet and access to controls and gauges are right in front for easy viewing and operation. I do not regret my purchase one bit and as a matter of fact, am contemplating purchasing another two for my production area. Definitely a great buy!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The little compressor that DOES! I got this to replace a portable pancake compressor for around the house tasks. This excels at everything I need it to do - inflate tires, kids toys, blow dust around the shop, small painting tasks, and general repair. I've used it with nail guns, pneumatic wrenches, paint sprayers, etc. While it may not be as fast as a larger compressor, the recovery time is minimal. The tank size, for me anyway, is perfect. It's easily portable if I need it out of the garage but provides plenty of air for most quick tasks. If the compressor does kick in, it is SUPER quiet and effective. It's no louder than a typical conversation. I like having the dual connectors on the front. I have one connected to my air hose and the other one will connect to an air piping system I'm installing. This provides flexibility depending on my needs. Overall I'm quite happy with the compressor. Assembly was a cinch and it has met all of my needs easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After moving into a town home/condo, I had to... After moving into a town home/condo, I had to say goodbye to my Dewalt 15 gallon tank air compressor. Great as it was, I didn’t have the space in my garage to build an enclosure with sound board to quiet the extremely loud beast down. This air compressor replaced that one, it’s smaller, much quieter ( only 68-70 db from about 10 feet away. Bottom line, it’s quiet enough. You can’t hear it from outside the garage. And it doesn’t vibrate the walls like my Dewalt did. If you live in condo like me with a shared wall, this is will do. And you’ll keep the neighbors happy as well. Also, I’m a wood worker so I am constantly using the air nozzle to blow off dust, no problem there either, plenty of power/good recovery….. Great little compressor!

I used this for light paint spraying and it works much better than my old pancake compressor. You do have to be careful not to try to spray too much at one time…after about an hour there was a thermal protection cutoff..had to wait another hour for it to cool and restart.

Do you recommend getting the steel or aluminum model? The aluminum model is much more expensive. Will the steel be fine? My garage does get humid in the summer months so I don't know if that will really be a problem with rust.
Asked by: BobS
The size of the air tank depends on space, weight and air storage. The larger the tank the more air storage you have. Having larger air storage will allow you to use more air before the air compressor motor turns on. Choose the material the air tank is made of. A. Steel tanks are strong but can rust inside and out and are heavier. B. Aluminum tanks do not rust and are lighter weight although can dent easier.

If this is a 110v compressor, and it requires 15 amps, then why is such a large (5500 watt) generator required?

- 110vac times 15A is only 1650 Watts.
Asked by: alanc1010
I picked up a Ryobi 2300w generator at Home Depot and of course I had to test it out on some loads. :-) I figured this compressor would be a good test. I disabled the generator's idle down feature to make sure the compressor starting load would not trip a breaker in the generator, and then turned the compressor on. It ran the compressor just fine. It was close to max load on the generator, but it ran it without issue.
