Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helps make a nice tidy job This was a nice, low cost means to reinforce drywall for mounting non-electrical cables (in my case this supported a receptacle for Ethernet and coax). The screws that tighten the bracket are a bit tight but soaping them fixed that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adequate, even if Dollar Store quality Many other reviews here correctly complain that the screws connecting the blue tabs are self-tapping and very tight. I avoided a problem here by soaping the screws, tightening then re-loosening them before installation. The template printing comes off when removing the blister packaging, so you'll need to do reassembly. With those poor quality issues managed, the bracket does do the job in the end.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible design and quality Needed two of these and was forewarned by the other reviewers that the blue retaining flaps will brake when you try to tighten them inside the wall without pre-threading them and still one of the blue flaps broke off. As others have pointed out, it should not require a philips but a robertson screwdriver, there should have been a guide at the end of the box so that the screw, which should have been a machine screw, can pass through it to keep it aligned with the front, the blue retaining flaps should be the same thickness throughout and not have an indent in the bottom, which makes it bend and possibly break when you tighten it in the wall and the flaps should have been pre-threaded. The template to cut the hole in the wall is printed on the inside of the packaging and is partly covered by the plastic cover, making it impossible to cut it out in one piece. Overall a very bad product. If you are dealing with a regular, non-insulated wall use the Iberville metal wall mount bracket instead. Better and cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Issues Having read the other reviews, I made sure to try to tighten the screws a bit before installation, and ran into no issues installing it nice and tight. Preferred this box to the other Carlon 1-gang bracket, because this one has deeper walls to help protect the ethernet keystones installed in it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Screws The screws required a lot of torque to sink into the plastic flapper which was difficult to do with Philips screws and a plastic frame. Ended up using pliers to pre-thread the plastic as much as I could before the actual install. Once the item was finally fastened to the wall, it was very sturdy and will work well. Terrible to install though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Easy to break Decent retrofit box except for the screws to the box mount flaps. Philips screw head is a terrible choice and screws did not thread well. Before installing into the wall, I had to grab the box mount flap with linesmen pliers and hand turn in screws to set the flap to the approximate drywall depth. When I tried to screw in while in the wall the screws did not thread and the phillips bit was stripping out the screw head.
