Rated 5 out of 5 by from Proven Suspended Ceiling Solution I used this system 30 years ago and it still works as well now. Installation is quick and simple. I am old and slow but can get a 12 x 14 room done in not much more than half a day. Depending on the number of weird angles and how much tile cutting is involved that could end up being a full day. If the tiles are rigid then you need to have 1.5-3 inches space between the ceiling joists and the top of the suspension system in order to get the tiles in, and be careful about planning how you do that. This will take up somewhere between 3 and 5 inches of height depending, but the result is worth it. With flexible tiles the main T-bars can go tight to the joists and fitting the tiles is much easier, but in my opinion the look is not quite as nice. Disassembly for fixing mistakes or doing repairs is more difficult than putting it together, especially with limited clearances, so plan properly and use care to do it right the first time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great suspended ceiling makeover... Easy to install.... looks great! Remember that if you are replacing an older 2by4 grid with a 2x2 tile set - there may be slight variances in the dimensions - depending on the original installation. In other words the 2x2 tiles might not fit exactly as designed in the vacant 2x4 space - but they still look good. Because of their shape it will be more difficult to adapt them to odd shapes (at the edge of a ceiling - you may need to buy flat edging tiles that you can cut to size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tiles I love these tiles. They are smooth and have a simple, modern aesthetic. They have some flexibility so are easy to install. They are also easy to cut to size - just score and break.

I'd love to separate two rooms and I need a product that I can attach to the ceiling that can support the weight of curtains and possibly allow the curtains to slide open and close.

will the DXL 24 main tees and radar 2110 tiles give a 45 min. fire rating?

Asked by: Devin
Tile and grid do not have a fire rating on their own. Using a flooring/ceiling assemblies from ULC or UL designs will help you figure out what is required to achieve a fire rating.

Can these be used in a bathroom installation?

Asked by: Flynny
We just received this question, and it may be too late for your project, but we felt posting an answer may help others. The grid can be installed in bathrooms, but if high moisture is a factor then proper ventilation must be provided, or upgrade to a commercial grade product for high moisture areas.
