Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Expectation met. This product worked exactly as described, I am no more impressed with this than I am with a light switch. If you buy this and expect it to preform some other task then that described on the product, then your mileage may vary. Do not ingest this product, it is not very tasty.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to Use It's easy to use. Ready to go straight out of the tub. I do find it a little on the thick side, so I tend to mix in a little extra water. Keeps for quite a while when properly sealed..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to work with. This is your typical drywall compound, and it works fine. When the lid is open for a while, it does not dry out as fast as I have experienced with other compounds. So I recommend it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pre-prepped and easy to use Much easier to use than the powder. You still have to mix this before using. I personally add a little water to it depending on what im using it for. The sealable lid is also beneficial.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from so much dust! OMG the dust! It’s like being stuck in an egyptian sandstorm! Spend the extra money and get low dust stuff. Only reason we bought this is because the other stuff was sold out

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but Had half a bucket left and used it for a drywall project in the basement. It’s been 9 hours and it’s still not dry. Bought a new bucket that I will be returning and buying the quick 20 min dry compound. I’ve used this product in the past and it served me well. But right now it’s a time sensitive matter and I have to get this project down before new tenants move in next week.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not water-sandable Dry-sanding is a breeze, but Do Not try to "water-sand" with this product, it'll just turn into goop, and yaa, I even waited 2 days for it to fully dry before trying to water-sand another area. I wish manufacturers would explicitly mark on their containers if it is "NOT WATER-SANDABLE".

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bag batch? Sticks so badly that bubbles formed everywhere. Using another brand on top of this cheap compound solved my issue. Maybe I got a bad batch, who knows? I'll never buy this compound again.

Hey, is this product waterproof? I need this to repair a wall in the bathroom that got water damaged and was wondering how it'd hold up against consistent moisture.

Asked by: Shannon22
No, there is no such thing as drywall compound that is waterproof. You have to apply a sealer primer and paint on top to give it durability from water.

can this product be used to fix a long (3 feet) crack in a bathroom plaster ceiling?

Asked by: Peter
Hi Peter, cracks, whether from repair of sagging or bulged plaster (above) or from other causes are repaired and reinforced using Sheetrock® brand paper joint tape embedded in Sheetrock® brand setting-type joint compound (Durabond® 90). Mix the Durabond compound, bring the mix to the desired consistency. Mixed material is at proper consistency when it just slides off a taping knife or margin trowel. All cracks should be repaired using Sheetrock paper joint tape embedded in the prepared joint compound. All fasteners used to refasten loose and cracked areas should be covered in the same fashion. After the embedding coat has set, apply a separate coat of prepared joint compound to completely cover the paper tape and feather out the repair. Treat all cracked areas in this manner; then, allow the Durabond compound to set and dry. Wide, deep cracks and cracks with uneven adjoining surfaces should be raked out, dampened full depth, and filled with Sheetrock setting–type compound (Durabond 90), then allowed to set. Follow with Sheetrock® brand joint tape embedded in a coat of Durabond 90 joint compound. After that coat is set, apply a separate coat of the prepared compound (Durabond 90 compound) feathered out a sufficient distance to conceal the joint.

how many tubs for 700 square ft?

Asked by: Anonymous
One 20kg pail of CGC All Purpose Drywall Compound will typically cover approximately 300 square feet of drywall joint finishing. However, this may vary depending on the application technique or site conditions. For a 700 square foot project, three 20kg pails should be enough material. I’m looking to repair the ceiling. It has bit of popcorn ceiling parts left which I can’t take out would this compound be good to level off the ceiling and get ride of popcorn ceiling patch?

Asked by: Umair
Hi Umair, please make sure you remove the popcorn ceiling parts the best that you can. Home Depot has a video on how to do this on you tube. Once the majority of the texture has been removed, this product would be suitable to level out and smooth the transition. We would remind you that joint tape is required at any joints between the patched and existing areas to prevent cracking and that for a level appearance, go very wide over the joints and feather out to a smooth transition.

what is the difference between red and green bags

Asked by: robert
Hi Robert, I am assuming you are talking about the red and green cartons not bags of All Purpose compound, as you asked this question under the green carton of All Purpose. The difference between the two, is the red is a lighter weight compound which finishes smoothly. The green compound can be used for all coats as well but is ideal for the taping layer as it has superior bond.
