  1. For embedding CGC Sheetrock® Brand Paper Joint Tape, applying drywall filling and finishing coats, covering fasteners and CGC Sheetrock® Brand Corner Bead and Trim.
  1. Less weight, less shrinkage (minimizes coats over corner bead) and easier to apply and sand than conventional weight drywall compounds.
  1. For hand-applying simple textures
  1. Coverage Joint finishing, 17 L finishes approx. 42 m² (450 ft.²) of drywall.
  1. Store at room temperature in a dry location. Protect from freezing, extreme heat and exposure to direct sunlight. Do not use if material is discoloured or has an unpleasant odour.
  1. Remix contents before use. When taping and finishing joints, thinning with water may improve application. Add clean water in 250 mL (1 cup) increments, remix and trial-apply until preferred consistency is reached. Over-dilution causes abnormal shrinkage, poor bond and other negative effects. Do not mix with any other material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful to work with This was a beautiful product that was easy to use. We removed our popcorn ceiling and built a closet and this product worked so well as a skim coat on the ceiling and as drywall compound fornthe new drywall. It goes on beautifully and sands very easily as well. My only word of caution is to use it quickly becasue it also dries very quickly , which is great for the job you are doing but not great in the box becuase it dries out and then you will get hard pieces in what should be smooth compound. We skim coated approximately 200 sqaure feet, drywalled a kneww wall and a cloeset and still had some left over.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product, very inconvenient packaging for use Product itself is great but packaging VERY inconvenient. It's in a single plastic bag, so unless you intend to use it all in 1 shot, very difficult to scoop product off the bag easily every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeping it lump free . If you want to keep from it getting lumps use a spray bottle to keep the bits on the plastic bag from hardening .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large Box enough for a big project This is enough for a larger drywall project in the basement. Like it not as dense as the regular drywall compound so it is easy to apply.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It’s good The yellow one ( machine ) is easier than the all purpose to apply

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All Purpose-Lite Drywall Compound useful tips. The material is very good for plastering work. It only requires proper protection against drying out. I suggest putting it all into a large airtight plastic container. Close it tightly after each use. Keep in the temperature not more than 25 Celsius.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 3 stars because it is a drywall mud... I would give it 4 stars for DIY project, but it is a drywall mud, so only 3 stars...I get issues with air bubbles, most of the time, with this mud, but it might be the way I thin it...I might not do it right?! It sands pretty well, but light dust is everywhere....if I think about it any longer, I give it 2 stars.. haha... controlling dust is time consuming and or expensive task....I did not find easy, fast and cheap way to sand drywall and to control dust at the same time....

I’ve been using machine mud to finish my walls. What is the difference between that and the lite compound? I’m looking to fix the job done on our ceiling which has some flex to it. If the lite is easier to use then I will go with it

Asked by: Paul
Use 90 or 45 powder compound of it has fle to it and then cover that with lite but don’t go thick with the powder compound as it’s harder to sand

Hi, Can I apply with high humidity weather?. today is at 75% How much humidity will be too much?

Asked by: CHRISTIAN
In the Construction Handbook on cgcinc.com in the Chapter called Finishing Drywall Systems - page 176 - you will find a chart dealing with temperatures and humidity and how it will affect drying times. We were unable to copy the chart in this response.

The SDS data for 2 CGC joint compound are: Machine Mud: Attapulgite <5%, Perlite <10% and Koalin <10% Total Mud : Attapulgite <5, Perlite <5% and Limestone >60% Why the total percentage for Machine Mud ingredients is only 25%?

Asked by: DrNo7507
Since not all formulations are the same, the ‘hazardous’ ingredients reported in the SDS will differ between products.

Will this product be fine in colder weather, example..... In a pool house, over cementbackerboard, thinking of using durabond first coat and finish with this. What are your thoughts.. Im worried about the winter months and whether it could handle the cold

Asked by: vinnie
We do not recommend drywall compound over large areas of Durock. Only small areas where Durock joint meets up with drywall. If you are wanting to finish Durock smooth you need to use one of the EIF’s manufacturers recommendations for smooth finish which usually involves a cementitious basecoat and an elastomeric paint or finish coat.
