CGC premium setting type compounds are the professional's choice of compounds for interior gypsum panels and exterior gypsum ceiling boards. CGC's chemically setting compounds rapidly harden (approx. 5 minutes) and have low shrinkage allowing for same day joint finishing. These products feature exceptional bond strength (virtually unaffected by humidity) and are ideal for heavy fills (shrinkage crack resistance). In addition, CGC setting-type compounds can be used for filling voids in interior concrete ceilings and above-grade concrete surfaces. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality product. This product works as promised so I give it full marks. I was a bit optimistic about my ability to work within the time provided ( 5 minutes ) but that is my fault, not the product's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick patch Fantastic for patching small holes. It set fast and hard bonding the patch to wall/hole for a secure patch. Feather over with a spackle and your likely done in 30-minutes. Doesn't shrink so great for nail-pops, picture hanger holes ...

Can you patch an existing hole and and reuse it after the compound dries?

Asked by: HUSA
The worktime is about 5min. I'd recommend mixing small batches as needed. Once mixed and dried you wont be able to re use it

can you use over cracked tape joint

Asked by: none
Without having more details regarding the cracked area, compounding over the crack will not solve the issue - could crack again (movement). The section of tape would need to be replaced. If there is a crack under the tape once removed, then yes you can use Sheetrock 5 to fill the crack.
