Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly Designed It's easy to program and it works well enough, but it remembers the PIN you use the one time, so that anyone can just walk up to it afterward and hit ENTER to open the garage door. The PIN doesn't clear itself on its own after a time. You have to enter a random number afterward to set it to something else. That's not a good design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I bought this just over a month ago and even with extreme cold weather it works every time I use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, but review instructions online I bought this product about a month ago. As with previous reviews, there is a misprint on the printed instructions with programming the keypad. Simply go online to review the programming. After reviewing the online instructions, the keypad was programmed correctly. Product works well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, shame about the instruction error I bought this product which I have seen in operation many times. I was frustrated that I could not get the keypad to connect based on the written instructions. The error is on step 2 as identified by another person who took the time to review. I note that the on-line manual shows the correct step. It would be appreciated if Chamberlain could take the time to correct the provided instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install but... There is a mistake in the printed instructions. Step 2 of programming states that you should enter a 4 digit PIN then press enter. However, the instructions sticker on the keypad itself states that you press '#' after the 4 digit PIN. I could not get programming to work at first, as I was following the instructions on the paper insert. Once I discovered the mistake, programming was simple and quick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to use I recently bought a house with a Chamberlain garage door opener, but there was no pinpad installed. This little unit took under 5 minutes to install, and less than 30 seconds to set the code. Instructions were very clear and it works perfectly.

My 2 car garage uses 2 different types of Sears 315HZ openers. One has a purple learn button, the other a red learn button. Will the Chamberlain 940EVC work with both openers? If so, can one Chamberlain unit control both doors by utilizing different pins?

    Asked by: Tommy
Yes the 940EVC would need to be program to those units.

We just moved into a new house that has a Chamberlain LiftMaster door opener from 2010. We have a keyless keypad installed by front door but previous owners did not leave the passcode or manual. Can I re-program? if so how?

    Asked by: tesh
Hello, and thank you for your question! There are a few different keyless entries manufactured, and each one will program a little differently. The first step will be to clear the memory from the garage door opener. This will also get rid of any previous remote control codes from the previous owner, so it is the best thing to do any time you move into a home with an existing garage door opener. To clear all programming press and hold down the learn button on the motor head for about 6 seconds, or until the small LED light next to the button goes off. For a 2010 model it is likely a purple square button on the same side of the opener as the hanging purple antenna wire. Now you are ready to program the keyless entry. If the cover of the keyless entry flips up, use this link for an instruction manual for the most likely model, 940D: http://chamberlain.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/340 If the cover of the keyless entry slides up, it is likely a Clicker, model KLIK2U. Use this link for programming: http://chamberlain.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2578 When you clear the memory from the motor you are also clearing out any of your existing remote controls, so they will need to be programmed back in. For programming instructions, look on the back of the remote controls and enter the model number in our FAQ section at the Chamberlain Support Center at http://help.chamberlain.com/.
