Rated 1 out of 5 by from Streaky. Not a fan, I expected an oil that would be absorbed by the wood and protect it (with a colour) but it was very messy. Really hard to cover, took many hands and you have to be extremely careful where sections you paint overlap, make sure to start the next section while not painting even 1 inch over the old section as it will look darker where they overlapped. After many hands throughout the entire deck if you look carefully it looks streaky, almost like leopard print, not a solid colour. Worst part is with daily use it always looks dirty. You can wash with water/hose and evn with some pressure and it will still dry and show the foot prints. Not a fan. Would not use again... J.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Water beading up 3 days after applying I applied this to our deck on a Sunday. Sunday was warm and sunny, Monday was warm and partly cloudy. Tuesday was misty and Wednesday is raining. The water is beading up and we are able to sweep the water right off the deck. The colour is great. It went on easy with a pad. Our deck is 9 years old. I sanded the pressure treated lumber last summer to get the rest of the previous "Grizzly" stain off. Half of it had peeled away after the first winter it was applied. The first application was 18 months after the deck was built. If this CIL stain holds up over the winter it is well worth the $$.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible product - Does not even last a year. I wrote the following review on the CIL website. It had 6 pictures. We used this product on our deck last year. We rented an industrial sander, and had to use palm sanders to get the smaller areas and cracks. We also cleaned the wood as recommend. It took days to prep the surface properly. The first picture is from August 2019, just recently completed. The deck looks great. ( I removed this first picture, as it had children in the back ground and maybe that is why they refused to post my review.), and the second and third pictures are what we were left with after the winter snow had melted. The fourth, fifth and sixth is what we have to date. The stain is continuing to peel. We are so upset and disappointed. We now have to redo the whole deck again at our cost...Their claim of statisfaction guaranteed is shameful. If there was a negative star rating option I could give this product I would. I received the following reply from CIL. Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time! Talk about adding insult to injury...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommend Extensive application in summer 2018 .. cedar arbor & trellis. Completed remaining arbor in Aug 2019. Easy to apply, no smell, used two coats ( all previous rosewood oil removed by sanding - a LOT of work & will never use again!) Colour really darkens to brown on 2nd coat. Really like the satin type finish & weathered very well through first winter - hard to tell when each one was done. So up to now would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great look and protection One heavy spray painter coat did the job. Good protection initially. The natural oil colour is yellowish on wood but the cedar is rich.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product One coat and it looks great. Wood sucked it up in a few hours. Now just have to see how it wears.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to apply with paint pad cedar color much darker than expected but gave a smooth finish, dried quickly and did very well after a heavy rain, used it on a long boardwalk, oil smell lingers for a few days, preferred old northern cedar which they discontinued, price a bit high.
