Not 100 percent satisfied with the plastic rod brackets though (seem a bit flimsy) and I think there should be an additional support in the middle if extending over 40”. My major problem is that the drawers that I purchased (and that they are suggesting you buy with this item on this page) DO NOT FIT. They’re made for a different unit that is deeper. I put all three drawers together before I realized. Now I have to take them back to the store. Also I’m not even sure they make drawers that fit this unit in which case I would have bought the other deeper organizer. Not happy.

Easy to put together, sides and shelves are solid wood.Be aware that this is a very heavy shelving unit, over 70 lbs in the box. Rods are made of good material also. Only disappointment was in the backing. I expected that to be made of wood also but was just a cheap piece of cardboard type material with one side finished to match. Due to trim pieces down the front edges and across the top, you cannot use any of the selectives accessories with this piece. I purchased 2 different sizes and my wife is very happy with them!

This is the higher end one and I like how it came together. Packaged and delivered with great quality and care. Fast. Solid. Good instructions. Love it. But they get the excellent rating because of their great customer service. The small trim across one of the shelves had a small damage. Could have been me when I opened it. I contacted them, they sent me a whole shelf with trim right away with no issues. I didn't get the drawers because of the setup I have, so what I did is what's in the picture (open shelves).

I would consider myself to be a novice handyman, but a stark profectionist. I peaced together other parts found at home depot I did not use the rails that came with the closetmaid system. The drawers costs twice as much as the tower if you purchase all 4.

I love the results and definitely recommend it to others. I had it shipped to my home and there were no issues with the packaging, as others have mentioned. It was a box inside another box so it was well protected. I had a little difficulty putting it together and had to do a piece or two twice but that’s ok. It would have helped if the pieces were labeled. But it was fine and actually very enjoyable to put it together and see the final product. I learned from another review that the trim needed to be cut beforehand so I had a contractor do that while he was here on another project. That was necessary to have it flush with the wall. I had one minor issue that may help others. I couldn’t put this directly in the middle of the wall because of a plug socket so it was slightly off-center. Later, I realized one of the rods wouldn’t be long enough (the one on the left). They each only extend to 48 inches. I went back to Home Depot and Closet Maid doe not have a longer rod for this particular set but I was able to purchase a generic one from another brand. They look identical though and I am thrilled. I bought the chandelier at HD too.

I got the basic set-up with no drawers or top shelves and was able to assemble it on my own in one day/a few hours. So far very sturdy! Hoping it stays that way for a good amount of time. I was worried that the trim at the bottom of my closet would interfere with mounting it, but the mount allows for space between the wall and the shelving.

I made a variety of adjustments to the basic installation, including trimming the bottom to level it rather than using the leveler screws on an uneven floor and replacing the top shelf on the upper unit with a melamine board that stretched from the wall on the left to the wall on the right, thus allowing me to anchor the unit that way rather than using the little L-brackets they provide which require one to cut through the unit backing to attach them-- unsightly, I would think. For our purposes this unit worked great. It was of good quality and easy to assemble-- comparable in my experience to furniture bought from Ikea.

Are the drawer to fit flush? Mine stick out a little, do not close flush to unit. They are easily to bump open. Any suggestions?

How wide is the shelf unit?

Regarding your inquiry, the rods for this unit are not pre-installed, so you have the option to move/place them on either side of the close tower.

The shelving does attach to studs or anchors in the wall. It will not hold clothes on the racks if the end isn’t secured to the wall

Assembly question: Stability of case without shelve?

I just assembled the upper and lower pieces of the unit, but have not attached them to the wall or inserted any shelves. The units feel wobbly. I feel like I possibly did not turn the top entry cam locks fully but I could not turn them a full 180 degrees. Anyone else have this issue?

When the back panel is nailed on mine was fairly sturdy. After anchoring it to the wall it was fine. Yes, double check those cam locks.
