Our Thru-the-Wall Series is designed for home and light commercial application. This unit includes a trim kit which allows the units to fit many existing 26" wide wall sleeves. Their solid steel construction, corrosion-resistant paint, and attractive styling will provide years of durable service. Wall Sleeve #EA448F is required for new installations (not included)

  1. Easy to remove, front-mounted, slide-out filter is a breeze to clean. Filter is designed to trap dust and other foreign particles, keeping indoor air cleaner. A check filter light on the control pad will signal when filter maintenance is required.
  1. Unit fits standard wall sleeves 26" or wider
  1. The 4-way air directional louvers allows users to direct the airflow up or down and left or right throughout the room as needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job! This a/c was a replacement for a slightly larger unit, that was old and had a mouse urine odor, but was also a power hog. This new unit was much lighter, quite easy to install in the old sleeve, and seems to be effective and more efficient.

The unit has exceeded our expectations and today is maintaining our home at 23C in the sun facing end of the house and the temperature outside is 38C. We bought the matching wall sleeve and I like the finished installation we were able to create.

does the thru-the-wall AC 12,000 BTU unit come with an exterior louver to protect the fins of the actual unit?

No, the exterior rear does not have fins, but the unit works really good and cools a large area.

Water from the rain is accumulating in the unit and does not seem to drain easily. There seems to be half an inch of water. How can I drain it?

Typically all of the condensation the unit generates will be evaporated in the air blown out from the outside side of the unit. If humidity levels are very high, and more condensation is created than can be evaporated, water may drip from the OUTSIDE of the unit, this is normal. If you have excess water accumulating and not dripping outside, the unit may need to have it's slope adjusted to ensure the inside is slightly higher than the outside.

Is it possible to install the ac in the wall without the wall sleeve

It can function without the sleeve, but there is no means for mounting it without the sleeve. Mounting, sealing, and trim would need to be field-added. Alternately a model RADS-121 would have the same capacity, with shutters/trim included.

Sorry John, no. That model has a 15A 'tandem' type plug (where both prongs are horizontal.)

Does this have the regular plug, or the kind of plug where one prong is sideways?

As it is a 230V appliance, it would require a 'sideways' type receptacle. https://goo.gl/images/kiqgGH The BG-121 model would have a standard plug, and is the same dimensions and same capacity.
