Rated 2 out of 5 by from very loud i bought this unit because i wanted a permanent unit that i would never have to take out and that i could frame into the wall. the unit works well but it is extremely LOUD. the fan on low setting is still way to loud for me. if it was in a garage it would be ok. being that it is in my house i am not happy with this unit. the "insert" that you have to buy to put this in does not fit very well at all. the instructions are terrible and the unit fits very poorly in it. it did not say anything in the instructions about angling the insert back to allow water to drain but looking at the unit if it was not angled back water could drain into the house. After spending $1000 on everything to hook it up i wish i would never of bought it. a $300 window type would be much better i would not recommend this unit unless sound does not matter

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank goodness someone still sells these! Very happy with the unit. It was a bit of a challenge to install, as I'm not an HVAC expert; but, I "got 'er done", and if I can do it, anyone can. The installation instructions are very complete (but also very technical, obviously meant to be read and followed by an HVAC expert). These "through-the-wall", heating & cooling units are becoming very, very hard to find; and, Home Depot was one of the few retail outlets that I could locate that still carries them. So, thank you, Home Depot, and thank you, Comfortaire, for continuing to manufacture them. I have a large solarium / greenhouse, and this unit was just the right size to provide heating and cooling capabilty for it. The unit IS fairly loud when it operates; but, I don't live in my solarium, so I don't mind it, and the plants in the solarium can't hear it!

What amps does this unit pull?  15?

Asked by: Shmath
Well it’s 230v at 15amps. So 2x 15a hot lines are supplied which are each breakered at 15a. You need to have 230v socket (2 horizontal prongs) to power this unit.

My ac unit is sweating inside the house and inside the wall causing frost between insulation. I have the unit covered outside and an insulated cover on the inside and it is still sweating and frosting up. How do you fix this problem?

Hello! I was wondering, is the air comes out from the back or from the sides?

Asked by: okokok24
The exhaust air comes out from the back only as the sides would typically be covered by the wall sleeve.
