Ils sont faciles à installer et la couleur de la lumière est assez naturelle, pas trop bleue ni trop jaune. Elles prennent toutefois une demi seconde à s'allumer même si j'ai installé un gradateur pour DEL, je ne sais pas quel est le problème. Ils ont minces et les clips sont solides. Le tour est d'un blanc légèrement gris, pas un blanc jaune ou bleuté.Très satisfaite de mon achat !

They installed fairly easily but the all-plastic body is not really reassuring to work with as it flexes and looks close to cracking on each move. The deal breaker however is the very noticeable buzzing sound they emit when plugged in. I tried other brand/model on the same line and they all work fine. Disappointed, i am hoping Home Depot will allow a return.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CSA approved? Really? Bought 4 of these to replace existing lights. There is no way these will fit into existing octagonal metal electric boxes. The boxes themselves are about 4cm deep and so is the plastic housing on the light. And why does the light not have ground wire.

Can these be used directly on a drop down ceiling tile without a housing box

What do you screw the ground wire to?

No ground screws or connection. The entire housing is plastic, not a single metal exposure. Thus, grounding isn’t needed

Does this have a replaceable bulb? Or does the the whole unit have to changed? If the whole unit does have to be changed, how long will these typically last with average use?

Hi, Thank you for this question. It doesn’t have the replacement bulb in it. If it doesn’t work you may need to replace the whole unit. And the normal lifetime is 40000h .

Why no ground wire on the light?

These lights aren’t certified for use in Canada. They’re UL certified only which I understand is only suitable for US markets. I’ll be returning mine for the simple fact they don’t have a box or ground.

"can be used with or without an insulation box." What insulation box are they referring too? To my understanding any area with vapour barrier, the lights must have poly hats to continue the integrity of that vapour barrier.

There is a thin compressible foam gasket on the exterior lip which compresses against the ceiling when installed - i had to use a little bit of caulking to hold it in place on the light before installation.  I assume that the intention is that this gasket will maintain the integrity of the vapour barrier, but i would recommend you repair any damage to the existing barrier from cutting the hole before installation.
