The sockets turn completely sideways which is great and I needed that as the plug it goes into is right next to my chair at the kitchen table and I was leaning on the wires sticking out. One problem is that it has one set of prongs for the plug and the other half of the plug is just a plastic post. If you have an upside down plug the unit has much more tendency to fall out, especially in a situation where it or the electric cords get Jostled. Previous adapters I have used had a hole to screw it to the socket. However in a situation where it is not disturbed by vibrations and parallel to the wall plug-ins are needed, it is great.

I also like the twin USB receptacles to allow you to charge your USB devices. A goodly amount of surge protection as well. I took away one star for two reasons. Number one on the back side it only plugs into one of the two receptacles on a common wall receptacle. Because of this it's not as stable as if it plugged into both of them. And number two I found that with three prong or heavy duty cords, I had to push extremely hard to get the male prongs of the cord into the receptacles. It certainly makes for great contact but it can be a bit of a bear to get them plugged in the first time or two. Overall a very nice design. I've purchased two of them.

I looked at a different one very similar but bigger at a different store. I needed something not bulky and would fit in a narrow space like she had. This worked perfect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Finally A Completely Safe Surge Protector If you want to be completely safe, then this surge protector is for you. The designers of this surge protector have taken your safety concerns to a whole new level. The tamper resistant devices on each socket are similar to those you might find on sockets in many new houses except these have been specially designed to instantly compel you to return this otherwise attractive and nicely-featured device. After all, if your goal is to be safe, you probably shouldn't be using electricity anyway.

Good for keeping as flush to wall as possible because outlet columns rotate left and right. That means wires don't stick out perpendicular to the wall with unnecessary bending that is bad for wires and requires furniture or appliances to stick out unnecessarily into the room. And you cannot have too many places to charge up modern day devices. A little pricey but worth it for a location where you want moderate total amp load (all 6 outlets powering devices) and recharging your phone, etc. at the same time.

What does the back side (that plugs in) look like? I'll be plugging it into a GFI outlet so it can't have that pin-like protrusion that I've seen on other wall taps. Probably a good idea to add that image to this site.
Asked by: MR
It has a single 3-prong male connector at what would normally be the top of a twin vertically-oriented wall receptacle. It has a single plastic pin that would go into the ground connector on the lower part of the receptacle. I think not having a second set of actual metal male prongs weakens the stability of this product.

Does this Plug into both of the outlet receptacles or just one (and covering the second)

Asked by: Mumofjnj
The unit plugs into one receptacle for power, however, there is a plastic peg that will plug into the second outlet as a stabilizer. Thank you for submitting your question!

Can this 6 outlet tap be plugged into the GFI outlet in a bathroom?

Asked by: Teegee
It is not recommended. Incompatible electronics within the GFCI and the surge protector can cause either to trip. GFCI outlets are placed in potentially wet locations such as sinks, bathrooms and garages. Surge protectors should not be used in wet or potentially wet locations. Can I plug my freezer, toaster oven and microwave all at once on to this?

Asked by: Marisol
These surge protectors are not designed to be used with kitchen appliances, especially those with heating elements like a microwave or a toaster. Each of these types of equipment should be plugged into separate (20 Amp GFCI) outlets without extension cables, power strips, or wall taps like this product according to Electrical Code. Thank you for your Question!
