Does it work for surge from lighten strike?

Asked by: Dan
No, probably not. Lightening strikes are so huge that no device of this type can contain them. This device is used to prevent damage from surges (AKA spikes) in voltage, by limiting the voltage to your device. The surge protector is usually also a sacrificial device. This means that if it has failed, it is likely that there was a surge on the power line that was generated either inside the building or home, from other equipment, or outside the building, from the main power supply.

Is this UL Approved (rated)?
Asked by: Jean
Yes, it is UL labeled. That's a very important rating on electrical products of this type. There's a lot of unrated stuff out there.
