Can it combine 5 x 20 AWG plus 1 x 14 AWG ??

Hello while IDEAL has not getten that specific wire combination as one of our UL Listed combinations but yes you could use the connector for that combination. Hope that helps IDEAL

How many wires can these connect? I'm working with 12 and 14 gauge standard house wire.

The wire range of this particular connector is a Minimum of 3 #20 Gauge wires and Maximum of 2 #12 Gauge Wires. As such, it will also handle 3 #14 Gauge Wires.

This would be an appropriate connector for your application as the minimum wire range is indeed 2 #18 gauge wires, while the maximum wire range is 2 #14 gauge wires.
