Rated 4 out of 5 by from NICE SINGLE SERVE COFFEE MAKER Just replaced my older Keurig (comparable to this model) Likes: less noisy, does not have to preheat water (does not have internal reservoir)- starts immediately,.smaller footprint-takes slightly less space, larger reservoir. has replaceable water filter, looks nice. Dislikes: brewing is a little slower(however coffee seems to have more flavor), wish water container lid had hinges,I use my own re-usable coffee pods and they are a little difficult to remove., Wish there was a higher water temp.(Same as my old keurig) Overall i would recommend...Paid $100 CA. (home depot)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it, but sediment with finely ground coffee I've used the machine for 6 weeks and love it. Home Depot had the best price, by far. My only complaint is that the filter for using your own coffee results in too much sediment at the bottom of the cup (others might not be bothered by this). However, the filter was better than a generic "K-cup" that I bought to try. In fairness, I used fine coffee, not medium ground. However, ground coffee in supermarkets seems to all be finely ground, and I think that medium might not produce strong enough coffee. Regarding pods, I have tried only Loblaw's President's Choice Gourmet West Coast Dark Roast pods. They produce a delicious, strong cup of coffee, even with 10 oz. of water.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappoined I bought this because I previously had the S700C model which lasted for a few years and loved it!! Our machine at work stopped working, it was a keurig brand, and I tried to find another of the 700 machines but couldn't. This model had just come out so I was excited that I could remain with the Cuisinart brand. However, it is very slow compared to the other machines I have used, and now after trying to De-scale two times now, the De-scale notification won't go away, and making a coffee is even slower. It spits and sputters very hot water everywhere, I'm constantly wiping down the machine, my counter, and the sides of the cupboard. The only reason I gave a 2 was because of my previous experience with this brand. Hoping they do a recall and restore my faith in Cuisinart.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I had the previous model and after only 18 months it stopped working, Made arrangements to get it the Vaughn Service Center, which was not easy from Hamilton. They replaced it with the new model - so far so good. Took it home, unpacked and set up and IT DOESN'T work - to won't take the water into the machine. It just says not ready add water. So DISAPPOINTED and I am sure we'll have to go all the way back to Vaughn to sort it out. So far it looks like an expensive piece of junk to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Very happy with this coffee maker. No waiting for the water to heat up, it’s instant. I appreciate the option of using my own coffee; those pods are mighty expensive in comparison. The default heat setting for the water temp is extra hot, which I actually don’t find is too hot (not like when you get a coffee from Tim Horton’s or McDonald’s and have to wait to drink it so you don’t burn off your tongue), so anyone that likes it super hot may be disappointed on that score. I love not having to boil a kettle when I want a cup of tea. Furthermore, I’ve seen the exact same coffeemaker with a different model number sold for $200-$250. I can’t discern any difference in the features, and I even called Cuisinart customer service to ask. They had no idea.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from LOVE IT.....BUT... Really like this machine but mine definitely has flaws. Maybe it's just the one I received so I intend to exchange it for another and hope for better results. I want this model to be my coffee maker so fingers crossed the new one is quieter and doesn't vibrate. Pros: 1. Nice looking machine/easy to use. 2. Has a good sized water reserve and is easy to refill. 3. Like all the options and they all work great. 4. Coffee comes out to the size programmed, tastes great, and is hot. Cons: 1. WAAAAAAY too loud, especially when dispensing hot water for tea. 2. Vibrates when working. 3. The open/close top tab is made of plastic - concerned how long it will last since it is used 4 times for every cup of coffee made (1. open to put in pod, 2. close to start the machine, 3. open again to remove the pod, 4. close to end process). Hopefully it's gone through rigid testing to ensure longevity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coffee maker We have had it for only a short time, but really like it. It is ready to use as soon as you turn it on, whereas our Keurig takes a few minutes to warm up. The main drawback is that the cup opening is not high enough. It will not accomodate a 16 ounce insulated cup, like our Keurig does. It is missing about 1/2 inch. We therefore have to make the coffee in another cup and then transfer it to our insulated 16 ounce cups. The end result is that the coffee ends up not being as hot as we would like it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3 year warranty but slow to brew Also have the Cuisinart SS-700 which is 5 years old and still going strong but needed one for the trailer to replace a fairly new defective Keurig. The SS-10C is a budget model compared to our old one and does take close to 2 minutes to brew a cup but at the end of the day it has a 3 year warranty and from what I'm seeing with friends and personal experience the Cuisinart is way more reliable than Keurigs and I will stick with them.

Can I use regular ground coffee ?

Asked by: Sheri
Yes you can it even comes with a little k cup to full with you own coffee. I have had this coffee pot for almost two years and love it! The water does not sit in the pot it goes over an element to heat the water when you push the button to make your coffee. You will not be disappointed with this coffee maker. Just take good care of it.

Can this coffee maker use the pods or does it have to be k cups?

Asked by: Kelly
If you are referring to the new compostable pod type, which is now used by McCafe coffee (without the plastic cup) YES, they do work in this machine !!
