Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficacy & Convenience I am a UBC Carpenter and Luxury Niagara Homes contractor. It was -16 Celsius during a snow storm outside while installing 12x24 porcelain tiles for a 300sq.ft. job in an occupied home with children, so mixing thinset outside was not ideal or responsible and in the home was not an option. (airborn silica dust) This product mitigated that issue. Yes, it costs more but saved labour and subsequent time costs. It was convenient. It’s bond between the tile, durock under layer, and subfloor was excellent and with indoor heating at 24 Celsius, it safely cured for grouting after 24 hours. It’s working time was superior to hand mixed thinset as well. The floor did not fail and the install was successful. (Also utilized to install a ledger stone wall and kitchen backsplash) This product exceeded my expectations and I would especially recommend it to DIY’ers, who lack confidence or ability to mix thinset with competence and optimal consistency. This is the first review I’ve ever written and my having taken the time to, is reflective of how impressed I was.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyers beware Horrible product. Make sure to read the technical/installation information from the manufacturer BEFORE purchasing. Don’t just go by what’s in the bucket. It took over 7 days to dry on the wall and longer for the floor (which we have to re-grout).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't use Omnigrip for floor tiles 10 days after I installed the tiles, the thinset was still not dry. When we removed the tiles to check, the thinset was as wet as the fresh new one! We had to remove all the tiles and get rid of the Omnigrip. I brought 3 empty buckets back to Home Depot and they refunded me fully.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT BUY THIS! It doesn't Dry! It's days 12. I used Omnigrip under 8"×8" tiles in my basement bathroom. It's still hasn't dry. You can move the tile up down and side to side. 5 days ago I aimed heaters at the tiles, hoping that the mud will dry with heat. So far "No".

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not impressed do not use on floors unless you have lots of time. so far its been a week and its still wet under the tile. waste of money as ill probably have to pull it all up and use a different product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for wall tiles After reading the other reviews I thought I would chime in. Yes, thinset will always be the better option. This product is what it is. Can you set ceiling tiles with thinset? You can confidently comb this out and pop your tile on (after back buttering) and be confident, there is little sag and very easy to work with. And no, don't use this on a floor. A lot of products claim things, and you really just have to 'know'. Thats why there are professionals (not depot associates) ask a pro, or better yet hire one.
