Rated 1 out of 5 by from No good in places here you need silicone Bought this for a bathroom renovation. It is NOT a substitute for normal caulk. It is water permeable. It's basically just a filler grout, despite the fact that is says 'caulk' it is a grout. It was difficult to apply because it was very dry. Even though I complied with the instructions it failed after 4 month causing the window sill in the tub/shower combo to take on water and all the tiles in the area had to be replaced as they had 'lifted' from water infiltration. The water got between the waterproof backer board and the window itself. Might work for some application but certainly not for where you would normally used caulking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect colour match - excellent results Matches the "real" grout colour with the same name very well. Was easy to apply and clean up. Great for corners and edges. Once dry it feels a bit stiffer than Kitchen and bathroom silicone. But clearly still "soft" enough to allow for any expansion or contraction of the joint. It exceeded my expectations. After a few weeks it is challenging to see the areas where I used this product in place of the grout (with exactly the same colour name). Wonderful results ! I have no reservations in recommending this product. . I am a customer of Home Depot and bought this product myself. I have no connection with the manufacturer of this product nor with Home Depot beyond being a happy customer. I wrote this review in hopes that it might help someone else considering this product. Such a review would have greatly reduced my anxiety in trying this product out the first time with my tiling project. I normally do not take the time to provide a review.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT buy this product... Recently tiled my shower and purchased this product to caulk the corners/ around the tub. Had to google the dry time as it’s nowhere to be found on the tube, the company’s website says 24 hours +\- depending on thickness. After 48 hours the surface had skimmed over but it was extremely soft to the touch, so much so that it was easily indented. I read some reviews on the product and it became apparent that many people have reported issues with this product not drying. Determined to make it work, I allowed it 7 days of dry time before exposing to water. It was still very soft to the touch and after a couple showers the caulk line around the tub began to disintegrate and “melt” off. I removed all of the caulk at this point and found it to still be wet and mushy in behind. Just stick with regular silicone to avoid a headache

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Defeating the purpose! I'm going to count my eggs before it hatches. I'm using a matching Polyblend grout (Platinum) with this matching colored silicone. Now I'm worried having to use "silicone caulk" in the past in my shower renos and it failed miserably. In their technical data sheet it literally says ..." Do not use in areas with constant water exposure..." Now the grout is already on though not caulked yet, I can't afford to take the chance with this product. I need it to seal and not fail. Will have to go back to the reliable MONO Silicone Max Kitchen and Bath 290 ml - Grey. Hopefully my customer won't complain about the different grey now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware! For use AROUND tubs/shower not IN Purchased this in exact color as rest of shower tile grout. It says it is for use on tubs, showers and vanities. This product is NOT intended for showers. Product stayed tacky even after allowing to cure for 72 hours. It is most definitely not water resistant or water proof. After a couple showers it started leaching and running. Complete mess. I told homedepot employee that the manufacturers intended use would make anyone think it can handle water. However on website it says not to use where constant water. Very contradictory.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Home Depot stop selling this product! As the other review mentioned it. The product does not dry. I applied it 6 days ago and it is still as day one. what is worst water flush it. I am returning the product. I was looking for a product for my shower and the Home Depot adviser pointed me to this product, but sadly it does not do anything, only lose my time and money. Home Depot please stop selling this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inaccurate Colours The caulking colour is far darker than expected (much darker than the visual on the bottle). It's more of a charcoal colour than natural grey. I'll now have to purchase a lighter colour and remove the natural grey caulking I've installed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It works well but be careful using around bathtubs The colour is nice but I would be cautious using it at the top of a bathtub. Typically you get some standing water on the edge of your tub, which will soften this caulk and cause it to run (this just happened to me). You can still use it at the base of your tub to get the proper colour scheme you want, but I suggest using a clear silicone over top to properly seal the tub/tile connection against water. I haven’t had issues in the vertical corners of my shower as there is no standing water.

We used it to fill in gap between a new laminate tile and our hardwood. It's working well.

Hi, I have couple tiles which are loose. The grout is cracked between those tiles. I have cleaned the space between tiles and planning to fill the voids with this caulk. Next I will re-grout. Will I have success with it?

Does this dry flexible or brittle? My slate hearth is on separate pieces of cement board and they move at the joint when walked on. The regular caulk cracks and crumbles. I'd like something to fill the gaps that has a bit of give.

Can this sanded caulk be used as grout on your tumbled travertiine mosaic tile? The narrow tip would help contain the grout to the 1/8" grout space between tile and not fill all the holes and crannies on the face of the tile if groiuted conventionally.

Asked by: Happy Tiler
The Sanded Ceramic Tile Caulk is not intended to be used as a grout. For further assistance please contact our technical services department at 1 800 282 8786 option 2.
