Rated 2 out of 5 by from Danby 8000 btu air conditioner This is our second 8000 btu Danby air conditioner. Same house, same window. Our previous Danby air conditioner lasted 8 years. We will never buy another. This model does not provide the same level of cool air that the previous model had. It is also louder then the previous Danby air conditioner we had. Like everything else, quality is nothing like it used to be.

How quiet is this air conditioner. I want a/c in my bedroom and don’t want a noisy one.

Not very quiet. If you are a light sleeper I wouldn’t recommend. However, if you like white noise shouldn’t be too bad.

The photo shows an edge on top does it really have that piece. I like to lock my window in there.  Also does it have the side accordion pieces to open to fill the gaps.

It says the unit itself is 18.54" in width but in a previous question you stated it needed 22.99" in width for full installation ... Can the installation kit be "altered" in some way to fit a 22" window width?
