Rated 3 out of 5 by from hope it works at long last Compact model which looks great... but it didn't seal properly and needed two visits from a repairman to get it right. (covered by maker) That process took 3 weeks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Danby Dimensions. I find it loads more than my older dishwasher which was Danby. I decided to buy a new one because the old one was unreliable. I however could only by Danby because of the dimensions. Then when I went to refit, I had to rejig the fitting. The new one was shorter and wider, and I had to rejig. So I could have bought another brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost a 5* rating I am familiar with the Danby name from living in the UK where the brand has a good reputation. I purchased the 18" wide dishwasher because we don't have a large house and I am used to this size from our UK experience. It is quiet, looks good, cleans well and was easy to install. Our counters are higher than normal at 35" to the underside so I had to build a small pedastal so there was no gap under the counter, but I knew beforehand of this. It is nominally for 8 place settings, but we can fit only 6 because our plates are large and bowl-shaped and are impossible to place so they stand upright; for this reason we have rated the dishwasher at 4* and not 5*. We have to leave the dishwasher open after a cycle because the dishes are still somewhat wet even with the heater on, but that is not a significant issue. A competitor big box store sells virtually the same dishwasher under a different brand for considerably more money, so much so that I had to write to the competitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow, nice little machine, top quality! Danby was recommended by our previous repairman as his favourite brand due to low cost, high reliability, and low parts cost. We absolutely love this little machine. Absolutely no quality concerns at all, all polypropylene plastics inside and for the base structure, beautiful stainless tub, nylon coated racks, nothing more than very faint plastic smell which was gone after a few days anyway. Very quiet. Automatic cycle length control. Cleans and dries beautifully. We have soft water (60 ppm) and I only need half a dispenser of soap and no rinse agent. As far as parts go, for comparison I priced the control board at $50 CAD versus $300 CAD from the W Corp. Competitors parts prices are typically so high that their appliances are uneconomical to repair, bad for you and the environment! Also get this, I spoke at length with their product support dept and was told that they would just send me a new machine if I had a warranty problem and couldn't find a repair tech in my area. Nitpicks - Installation would have been problematic if the machine height was set to its lowest height of 32.5" because it then becomes difficult to route plumbing and wiring up from the channels in the base to the connection points behind the kick panel. It's just not possible to make a tight bend in BX (AC90) cable. I don't know if this would also be the case with other brands. Fortunately my required height was 34.5" so no problems though. Also not sure about the white kick panel, shouldn't it be a dark colour or maybe reversible?
