    Rated 1 out of 5 by from POOR QUALITY Purchased this dehumidifier and after 2 years and one week, the compressor failed to work. It is not covered under the warranty after two years. Nearest place for repair is in Spring Hill, NB. Will never purchase this brand again.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from humidistat is JUNK but unit works well I had asked a question about this prior to buying it and bought it before I got an answer. The built in humidistat is JUNK and not even worth the cost to have it installed. I have 4 legal plants and needed to keep humidity in check. This does do that but to control it I set it on run full time with it plugged into a humidity sensor by Inkbird. As it holds memory in power fails the inkbird does a great job of firing it up when needed. I have one analog gauge and one digital. They read the same but Danby is nowhere close. Because the danby sensor is junk I gave 3 stars. Danby should google Inkbird and team up.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped Working Six Months In I bought a Danby dehumidifier from Home Depot last spring. Worked alright, though very finiky. Then a six months or so, it just stopped sucking water out of the air. Which is bad for a dehumidifier. Called Danby: I had to haul it to a repair depot to be assessed, maybe repaired. Then drive there and back to pick it up. Not a viable option given the distances involved. So it sits a piece of junk in the basement...

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well Overall this dehumidifier works very well. The fan does not run continuously, which is nice, but it's pretty loud. Water level is visible without removing the reservoir. These days every brand of dehumidifier is made in China, which is a problem. My last Chinese dehumidifier died after just 2 years while the one before that, made in Canada, lasted 10 years. I hope this one lasts longer than 2 years!

Its been 7 years living in a semi basement where humidity is a great factor, After reading several good/bad reviews from different brands, the decision was difficult until I came across THE ENERY STAR.. 2 days after my purchase, I felt a great difference when walking through the door. Never have I thought a Dehumidifier could actually make a difference. Easy Features, Low Sound, Automatic shut off when water basket is full..He is my new BEST FRIEND :-) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

    How fast does this dehumidify. I have a 4 ft x 4 ft grow room and at night humidity spikes. I need to get it down to 35%. How long will it take to get there from say 70%.

    I can't give you an exact time but I've found this dehumidifier to be pretty efficient. I've hung a full load of laundry to dry in a 9ft by 9ft room with the dehumidifier going for about 8h hours and the clothes were pretty much dry when I turned the machine off.

    Basement is moderately damp and has a concrete floor, walls are insulated. Size 15' x 11' . This is the laundry room and has a musty smell would this be large enough for this room or should I choose another size. Note do not turn heat on in this room.

    Our camp Basement has concrete walls insulated with 2” blue styrofoam.  It has 8 air vents.  Should they be opened or closed when running dehumidifier?
