Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good countertop dishwasher I have had this product for a month and I am satisfied with it. We are two people in the household, and we turn it on every 1 or 2 days. Usage is very simple - quick to connect to the faucet. Installation was also very easy, and didn't require any tools. Here are some cons (I think they actually apply to any portable washer): * It connects directly to the faucet, meaning that you cannot use the faucet while it is running. Note that you can pause it, disconnect, use the faucet, and reconnect, but it is inconvenient. I run it over night, or when leaving for work to avoid this issue. * It is not big enough to wash pans/pots.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from VERY leaky! I tried 2 different units of this dishwasher and, despite its good qualities, I ended up returning my second unit due to intermittent leaking. The first unit leaked so much that it seeped underneath my sink and drenched my cupboards underneath. The second unit leaked less, but enough to saturate a large, thick beach towel. The first unit leaked 3 out of the 5 times I ran it, and the second unit leaked 3 times out of 20 or so of the times I ran it over 2 weeks. It's a shame because it fit on my counter top perfectly and did a fantastic job of washing the dishes. I spoke to 3 different agents at Danby, who were all unable to help me. I had a technician look at it, and, as I suspected, wasn't able to replicate the issue due to how intermittent it was. Home Depot had excellent customer service from both their call centre and in-store staff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super glad I got this We got this unit to replace our full sized broken dishwasher; it is just the right size for a couple and works great. I really like the delay start feature, lets me get it ready and tell it to start later so I don't forget about it. The only time I've had any issues with it is when a small item falls under the tray and blocks the arm from spinning. It was also relatively easy to hookup to our existing built-in dishwasher lines, with some plumbing knowledge and tools and has been working great. Overall very worth the cost

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the compact dishwasher! I have the Danby DDW621WDB Countertop Dishwasher. I bought it because I don't have much room in my tiny kitchen. I LOVE this compact dishwasher. It holds 6 place settings - I can have people over and get the dishes done without taking up too much space. It's energy efficient and super it's super quiet. I LOVE this little unit. I don't have a pile of dishes sitting in my sink and counter top any more (and I have very little counter top). It's a great little unit and I would recommend it for anyone in an apartment or, really anywhere with a small kitchen! THANK YOU Danby for your amazing products!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks and doesn't clean well I bought this a couple of months ago. Issues from day one. Leaks if not perfectly leveled on countertop. After a few adjustments to my counter, I finally got it working. Was doing quite well for a short while, but now, only a couple of months later, it's not cleaning very well. I use highest end tabs and the finish spotless dry but dishes still need to go two, sometimes three cycles....then need a quick wipe. I bought as I'm disabled, price seemed right for my limited budget. Wishing I had saved my money, or saved a little longer to get a full sized portable. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unpacking made easy Not only is this a great, handy dishwasher for one or two people, but the packaging was well thought out. The box is open on the bottom. After removing the straps, you can esentially lift the box off the base exposing the unit. I of course didn't know this on tried to lift the unit out of the box -- it's not that heavy, but please, take the easier way. Styrophome is also reinfored on the corners with compressed cardboard. Unit arrived in excellent condition. Make sure you tighten the hoses with wrench of somekind... otherwise you end up with water over the floor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good small dishwasher. Replaced by old 497 with the 621. The new one cleans far better and it is *much* quieter. Generally, the dishwasher is quieter that the TV. I use Correlleware (dishes/plates/coffee cups/mugs). I have been using it 30+yrs. The coffee cups/mugs are the 9-oz size, but the physical height is virtually the same as many other cups/mugs made by many companies. There is an issue with the design of the dishrack that needs to be addressed. It involves the left-side flip-down shelves. The wide gap between the middle and lower bars is readily visible when looking at the rack online on this site. The 12" plates will not fit this dishwasher. I mostly use the mid-size and small plates. They fit fine. The silverware basket tends to fall over if loaded/filled from the back. Start at the middle holes (by the handle) and fill to the front first, then fill the back. Or fill front and back equally so the back does not get overweight with silverware and tips. What I see as the problem: There are two flip-down shelves on the left side. At the bottom position, they are too low to allow the 9-oz coffee cups/mugs to be under them (they fit in the 497). If placed at the next-higher position, the various different coffee cups/mugs I tested ALL hit the door opening when I tried to roll it into the dishwasher. The only coffee cup that did not hit was a short standard coffee cup that comes with a saucer. Moving the middle bar slightly lower would permit 8 or 9 standard-sized 9-oz coffee mugs to fit (4-5 on the lower level, 4 on the top). I was able to fit a 20-oz casserole onto that shelf (the bottom on one shelf and the top on the other). I generally remove those shelves unless I need to run one of those casseroles through the dishwasher. The 621 uses the same connectors and water hoses as the 497.

Hello, I purchased this Danby dishwasher. I am having trouble finding a way to connect it to my sink. My faucet is too small for the piece to connect, and I cant seem to find a piece to connect with my sink. I was wondering what I can do to fix this

Asked by: Bella
If you have one of those hose end faucets that might be the problem. You need a faucet with an end that screws off at the filter. All you would do is to screw off the faucet end and screw on the dishwasher quick connect faucet, make sure to get the skinny one not the wide one. Than the dishwasher hoses will couple right up to your faucet. Hope this helps.

Will I have any problems due to hard water from a well? Will I need to clean the pipes with white vinegar?

Asked by: Bunny
It doesn’t continually use your tap water during the process of washing. There for I am assuming the hard water would eventually affect it and would recommend cleaning it out to help with build up. I’ve had the dishwasher now for two years and it still works great for regular soiled dishes.
