Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed I thought I'd spend a little extra and save some mess vs mixing actual concrete patch, as I only had a small section of floor to repair. Instructions say you can patch up to 1.5 cm thick - spots that were about 1 cm thick did not harden after a week or so. I scraped it out and did 0.5 cm layers, which still took forever to solidify. I ended up doing about 0.25 cm layers, which worked okay but was extra work. After about a month now the filler itself has solidified but is nowhere near hard. Fingernails make easy indents, and the thicker areas indent with moderate thumb pressure. I'll be requesting a warranty refund.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing product - it won't harden I bought this product on Aug 22, 2022 and used it to mend a hole (an indent) on my garage floor before painting. The hole was a concave hole measuring about 3 inch across and about 0.4 inch at its deepest part. According to the label, this product is suitable for a hole up to 0.5 inch (1.5 cm) deep for single layer application, and so I used it to cover the hole in one go (after damping the surface a bit with a mist of water first). However, the next day, I still found it soft to touch. So I removed about half of the product from the hole and let it dry for another day. The next day, it appeared to have hardened mostly, maybe 90%. So I filled up the hole again and wait. Unfortunately after 2 more days, the product was still soft. Seeing that this product would never harden, I ended up removing all of it from the hole, and bought another product for the job. It was very disappointing. I wish I could get a refund for it!

there are 2 cracks about 0.5-1.5cm wide, 30 cm long and 7-8 cm deep on my chimney crown, can I use this to fix it? do I need to seal the gap with sealant first, or I need the other product?

Asked by: Jeff S
Thank you for posting your inquiry. We would not recommend the use of the Ready Mix Concrete Patch for the application as described. A better alternative would be our Premium Polyurethane Adhesive Construction Sealant. Should you have any questions or wish to discuss your project in more detail, please feel free to contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.

I have palm sized potholes on my garage floor. Do I use the dap concrete or mortar mix or do I use the dap concrete mix? Which one will be long lasting and can handle heavy vehicles without breaking down again? It is still winter here with temp of -20c.

Asked by: Newbie
Thank you for posting your inquiry. DAP Ready-Mixed Concrete Patch is designed, marketed, and labeled for use in minor masonry repair (not as a direct replacement/substitute for dry-mix portland cement repair products). Based on the information that you have provided regarding your intended application, the use of a traditional dry-mixed portland cement patching product would be the most appropriate choice for your needs. Of note: both products must be applied and permitted to dry/cure at temperatures above 5°C. (40°F.). Should you require further assistance, please feel free to follow up directly with DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.
