Rated 5 out of 5 by from KILLA FILLA! Great product. Easy to apply and mold into whatever crevasses or gaps need filling. Super easy to sand and scrape away excess. Added bonus that it can be cleaned off with a damp cloth. I used it to fill in hinge recesses when I flipped an interior door. It covered up the recesses on the door frame and the door as well as the the bigger hole where the bolt went in on the opposite side of the door frame. Sanding was a breeze and paint took to it beautifully. Love the colour indicator showing when it is dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great Once You Know How I used this filler for a large built in closet that will be painted. At first I didn't like the product but once I got used to it and figured out the tricks it was a great product. It has a similar consistency to slightly dried Playdoh as it is a putty. When manipulated it becomes more malleable. It's great for screw/nail holes, flat cracks and other needs on flat surfaces. It's a little finiky to work with when it comes to corners or areas where it is hard to press the filler into the "hole". One tip I found helpful was to wet the tool a bit before tooling the filler. The water helps the tool slide over the filler and leaves a smoother finish. In the end I would recommend this filler. The pink to "natural" colour change is a neat feature to help track the drying of the filler.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product for DIY-ers! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I am already a big fan of Dap Drydex spackle and the Wood Pro X did not disappoint. I love that it goes on pink and dries down to natural color. You can see when it's wet and dry. So for a DIY-er like me, it makes my life easier. It's easy to apply and dries quickly. Easy to sand and paint if needed too. The only thing is, the container easily dries out if the lid isn't on quite right, or if there is a lot of room for oxygen in the container. So make sure you keep the lid on tight and even add some saran wrap on top before you close it so that oxygen doesn't get into it to dry it out! Other than that it works well as described.

Even after the recommended dry time, this product cannot be exposed to water because your sanded finish will almost dissolve into clumps. I also tried a new spot that was never exposed to water; sanded and applied acrylic latex paint. The paint had a chance to dry Its recommended 3 days and now I'm getting bubbling on these spots where I patched. The product doesn't even have instructions on its use on the packaging. You have to go online to find this. Within that information you are told that it's recommended you use yet another product to help in the adhesion process. It's possible that this product works better indoors if not exposed to high humidity levels, but I will not be buying this again

Thanks Influenster for the chance to try this DAP Wood Pro-X all purpose wood filler, just in time for replacing my baseboards. I loved that it went on Pink and dried in a natural colour, this made it easy to know when I could go to the next stage of my renovation. Applied smoothly and dried quickly, without cracking or flaking. I recommend this product and have purchased a large bucket to continue my project. Love all DAP Products!!

Can I use this to fill-in gaps in my apartment hardwood floor? Should I wax the floor after application? What colour does this dry as?

DAP WOODPRO-X is designed for minor cosmetic repairs, such as: nail/screw holes, cracks, knot holes, etc. Of note: Plastic Wood is not designed or recommended for use as a "stand alone" product, as indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature: "Exterior applications must be coated with latex or oil-based paint or solid color stain”. Likewise, areas that may be subject to abrasion or wear should be protected with a surface coating, such as a high-quality polyurethane, that is "traffic rated" for flooring applications. As with any hard setting wood repair filler, it should not be applied to joints, seams or other areas prone to movement. I fill up the large cracks on my roof top wood column support at the base and wait for it to dry. Over night ,can I repaint it tomorrow ? I a going to treat it with Thompson water proofing afterwards ,is it okay?

I have some wood railing that have rotted. Do I need to cut away the rotten wood and use a wood hardener before applying this stuff or can I apply directly to the rotten wood?

We do not recommend this use of DAP WOODPRO-X for large format applications, such as you describe (restoration work, rot repair, etc.) the use of more specialized repair products such as two-component epoxies and accessory primers (wood stabilizers) would be recommended.
