According to all the calculators I've used, you need 4. If you're looking for better support, you could use 6.

How many blocks do I need for a 10X12 ground level deck. What spacing do I need for blocks.

Asked by: Debbie
Every 4 feet so you would need 3 per row, @ 12 feet long Every 2 feet so you would need 5 rows @ 10 feet wide. So you would be looking at 15-16 blocks. This is what I did for my deck, but I am NOT a contractor. Hope it works out for you.

Ok to use these for fences? I need to build a fence with a 9' span, was planning on using three of these rather than dig in rocky, rooted ground.

Asked by: ridger
You should only use desk-blocks for deck footings it is not recommend for a permanent fence.

i am planning building a floating deck 20 x 14 - 5 feet high, how many deck blocks should i use?

Asked by: Luis
0. If your deck is going to be 5' high, you should be drilling 10" holes and pouring a solid concrete footing on your posts.

I am building a shed platform 10'x16'. how many deck blocks do i need and how should i space them?

Asked by: RH2206
As long as your platform is 24" or less I would suggest that you use approximately 20 Dek Blocks spaced 48" apart.

Using cement blocks for a high level deck

Hello I have an existing deck 12 ft high which is attached to my house. Can we safely use cement blocks for a 3 ft extension and new stairs?
Asked by: Anonymous
Check with the building officials in your municipality. In Ottawa Canada, you need a building permit for deck more than 600mm (24") off the ground. If it's attached to your house, you really should have a professional design it and submit the building permit. Ledger details are notorious water ingress points, and are often subject to failure. Any modifications to such a deck should be carefully designed.
