Rated 2 out of 5 by from Device failed within months We had connectivity issues with one of the two fixtures right from the start. Shortly after installation we noticed one of the fixtures never turned on. Going back into the phone app this device would no longer connect. I was able to swap the fixtures around, as they are easy to swap the head units, and the failure followed the head. This proved that there was power to the box/base. It does come with a 5 year warranty, but it now looks like this is maybe being discontinued, as it shows out of stock on line.

Security light was above average in performance, not superior because the sensitivity and illumination does not wrap around the building when installed at the corner of the building. Therefore, 270 degrees as advertising on the box is a little misleading. Otherwise, it is working adequately. Will know how energy efficient it is in a few months.

How secure is the bluetooth

Can anyone with a smart phone download the app and then come and mess with the light settings or is it username password specific?

By the time anyone is in range to "hack" the bluetooth, the motion sensor will have already activated the light. I've has mine for over a year and have had no issues (other than the lack of range on the bluetooth)

The specs say 70 feet and line of sight (no walls) for blue tooth control. But this is an outdoor light. Outdoors implies walls. On my house I have walls between the indoors and outdoors. I can't control this outdoor mounted light via bluetooth unless I go outdoors and have a direct line of sight to the light? How can I control this outdoor light via bluetooth control while at the same time I stay indoors? Not sure if my question makes any sense. I have a 2600 sq foot ranch and need about 8 of these lights. Can I use bluetooth from the indoors to control these outdoor lights? I can't believe I would have to walk around the house one time to control all the lights. Is that the correct specification?

The Bluetooth technology can work through objects such as walls, however Bluetooth specifications are usually based on "line of sight". So the line of sight specification is the "optimum" performance factor, with walls it will usually go through but the range distance may be reduced depending on what the wall is made up of. The second question around 8 lights and control bring a few points to mention. The 8 lights cannot be controlled as a single group of lights, so in the Bluetooth App you will have 8 individual lights listed in the App and each one will have its own setting you customize it too. You may be able to control each light from some random point inside the house, but that depends on how far the light is from your mobile device with the App and what kind of structures the signal has to go through to get to that light. How to open up, get repair parts and fix?

I have bought 7 of these units in the past 4 years including 3 within the last 2 years. 3 of them have already failed. they were mounted under the eaves of my garage and failed after rain storms when they apparently accumulated water inside. is there any way to open them up to dry? I had one more that failed and then came back to life after a few months when it dried out. the other 3 have stayed dead and 2 still have obvious water in them weeks after the last storm event. is there a source for repair parts? is there a repair guide? I know they're probably out of warranty but I hate to throw away electronics that could be repaired. please let me know if there is anything you can do to help. thanks
