Rated 1 out of 5 by from Handleset is failing This handleset was installed early June this year and already it's failing. Outside door latch will not open the door. Inside handle needs to be turned down hard, up hard, then down hard again in order for the door to finally open. After removing it and reinstalling, it's partially working - outside door latch works but from the inside, the handle will only work if turned upwards. Door will not open if the handle is turned down. It looks great though!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage due to design flaw (admitted by agent) Garbage. Bought one and the handle to open the door (inside and outside) does not engage the internal latch. Have been locked in and out of my house so many times. Called the help line, and exchanged for a new one. Same issue with new one; called help line who told me it’s a design flaw and they have numerous people complaining about it, but have not rectified it yet. Will never buy a defiant product again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks Nice but not made for 1-3/4” steel doors Just bought and installed this handle on an 1-3/4” thick steel entry door. Looks very nice. Worked once installed, but when we closed the door it would not open from outside. Remove, repeat, worked fine…closed door… same thing. The problem is that when the door is wide the door latch is not tight between the two handles and it moves to the interior side of the door and the outer latch slips off the square pin inside. It needs a longer square pin attached to the outer handle. Our fix was to insert 4 washers over the pin on the inside of the latch pin to hold it securely in the centre of the door. Now when we close the door it does not slip off. Other handles we have installed have come with longer/reversible pins, or with a round washer with square inner hole to slide over the pin to keep latch pin piece in place. Manufacturer should consider fixing this so it can be properly installed on any thickness of door without needing a “hack”. Or at least mark on the box that it is for narrow doors only. Would have attached photos, but now that handle is on, not taking it off!!

what are the terms of the limited lifetime warranty?

What's the C measurement, i.e., from the centre of the bore to the centre of the lower screw hole?
