Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool lock [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Defiant Hubspace Round Matte Black Wi-Fi Deadbolt. I'm really impressed by this lock. Really easy to install and set up. I have had other electric locks from other manufacturers and they where way harder to program and install. This one you follow the easy directions and go to the hub space app and you put in the location of the door and you can set up the wifi and pin. You can set different controls to lock and unlock it like locking and unlocking it remotely. You don't have to use tge wifi all the time either which I prefer. It a really nice set up.

Used to had a wifi and zwave locks before but this one is a much more easy to install and so much responsive when i downloaded the hubspace app. With the app you can control so much more like giving temp pin to people, check battery level, stop access to anyone instantly, program to auto lock in seconds or minutes and reprogram the lock behavior in an instant. The price is much less with the same quality and durability of other products.

I set up my code via the Hubspace App and I press on the key pad the code and it will not lock or unlock. The key works the app works for locking and unlocking but not the key pad. I feel like my lock is defective and I’m very dissatisfied and disappointed. Black color is not available in store by me for east exchange.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 8 mos old and draining batteries I love this lock, however, eight months after purchasing batteries are only lasting 24 hours having to change them every day. Contacted customer support and they told me they had no record of anything like this happening that it was probably my batteries. I have tried several different types of batteries and all of them new from the store. Clearly this is not the problem was advised to take it back to Home Depot, as they are handling their own warranties, we’ll see how this goes

Discovering these have been such a blessing and makes life a little more convenient. However, technology is still technology, so we pick the ones with keys. Just in case the battery runs out and we can't get in. So there is a backup plan there. it comes with everything you need. Really easy to install and takes a few moments to configure.

I would say, forr those of you that seek ultra quiet locking mechanisms this is definitely not it as you can definitely hear the deadbolt from afar. Overall great product. I would recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a most of house set up as a “smart home” and one of the final parts was adding a couple of smart locks. This lock fit everything I was looking for: sleek design, simple to use and integration with Amazon Alexa. It took me less than five minutes to remove my existing deadbolt and replace it with the lock. All the parts were clearly labeled and included markings to know which way to install them. Didn’t need to look at the directions once. Setting up the app and integrating with Alexa was super easy as well. You do have to plug in the included smart outlet to be able to access over Wi-Fi rather than just Bluetooth. It would be nice to have the unit itself sync to Wi-Fi, but not a big deal. My only real complaint is the unit runs off of 4 AA batteries. I think its pretty standard these days to have rechargeable power units. I have only had for a few days so I can’t comment on battery life, but I hope it is many months. Overall, I’m quite pleased and looking forward to using it.

My place is about 200 yards from the ocean. Everything except aluminum and good stainless steel rusts. How do these hold up in saltwater air?

If you do experience any problems with this lock it does have a 1 Year Electronic warranty and can be returned to your local Home Depot as long as you have the receipt. how long should the battery last

I can't find the admin password on any of the paperwork or box. Where is it located and/or how to I obtain it?

Hi Nick, There isn't a pre-programmed Admin pin. You will need to set the Admin pin in the Hubspace app. Click on the image of the lock. Down at the bottom is an icon that resembles a keypad. Press that and at the top of the new screen will be the button for you to add your Admin pin. Can two people control the lock from different phones? I added the lock but then when my stepmother added it to her phone it disappeared from my phone.
