The mounting procedure is the same as the other brands. the standard mounting holes spacing makes installation easy. it took me less than three minutes to replace my old door lever with this one. The square rose cover can slide in and out during installation. I wish there is a set-screw to force this cover tighter in place against the door. It seems it is designed as snapped-on right now and it can come off. The paint finish is nice and looks elegant. The operation is smooth and feel solid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Defiant Westwood privacy lever type handset is heavily made. The escutcheon is 2 ½ inches square and just under ½ inch thick. The handle is 4 7/8 inches long, just over 1 inch wide and 5/16 inch thick. It looks very clean and modern and feels high quality and substantial in the hand. The finish is a nice satin black. The mechanism is substantial and works smoothly and with a quality feel. The ANSI 3 quality doesn’t seem high enough for this lever set. The twist lock on the secured side works well and the emergency release on the other side is very discrete and can be operated with a coin edge – no looking around for a right-sized nail to poke in the hole when the little ones lock themselves inside.

It also tells you the tools you will need to do the job They even give you a number to call if you have any problems and it comes with a limited Warranty. The how these can work with a traditional or modern space depending on the styling of the room. Great quality, the weight and feel of the handle is way above other lever style door handles. Love the look of a lever style instead of the old brass knob style. This door lever a nice paint finish, will comment back for the long term wear, I'm curious about scratches with the matte finish. I think the matte black will have a longer "style" use, the oil-rubbed bronze is becoming too common. See attached pictures of style/finish, waiting for the paint to dry before I install, will pop against our white door.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been replacing all of my in home door knobs with these Defiant levers. I love them. Pushing a lever beats turning a knob. These levers are well made, easy to install and they look great. This one in particular has a sleek black finish that really breathes new life into the door. The square is a nice touch. The lock operates smoothly and the notch on the other side of the lever is easy to work in the event of an accidental lock. I always match the shape of the lever with doors in close proximity. I love the different options. A couple of times i had noticed that the lever wasn’t exactly sitting 90 degrees. I’m hardly an expert so i thought it was just the way the lever sat and went on living my life, but it kind of bugged me. Lo and behold it is fixable. The problem was not squaring it up before tightening all the way. Duh! But even if they are a little off angle wise they still work great, as in they smoothly operate. So I’ve got them and this one all squared up and looking fantastic. I personally have had to get a device that guides me in making the holes in my door bigger because my old knobs didn’t require this sized hole, which is a standard size with two different backset options. So if you get the old knob out and this one won’t fit, rest assured. There is a product made for this occurrence. Once the hole is correct for the knob it takes only a few minutes to install. This lever should last a very long time. It is a quality item and I’m glad to have found it and the rest of the defiant levers i have installed.

The only issue I have with the lever is that the plates are lose when seated to the door. It wobbles a bit which isn't a big deal but should be noted. Other than that, it works pretty well. It does not stick or jam. All positives. Will definitely be getting more!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love the look of these, easy to install, instant... I love the look of these, easy to install, instant upgrade from the old brass knobs we had. My complaint would be sometimes the black square comes off the door and you have to push it back in. Not all of them which is odd, but a few are constantly coming off. Not a huge deal but a little annoying. Also had some issues with the handle laying horizontal, it kind of lays down a bit if that makes sense. All and all I love them. I also changed the hinges and made all the doors look brand new. Love the matte black, feels like good quality and durable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a solid door lever. It will fit doors as thin as 1 1/4" and works well with the standard 1 3/8" to 1 1/2" thick door. The lever handle works well for those who have difficulty gripping a round knob, however it is easier for small children to operate the lever, which can be both good and bad. The latch works for both 2 3/8" and 2 3/4" setbacks. The inside lever assembly has a twist lock and the outside has a slot to unlock if accidently locked when pulling the door shut. You can use a straight screw driver, dime, penny, or any thin item to unlock the door from the outside. The lever is locked both inside and outside (unable to turn) when locked, must unlock before the lever operates. It comes with a sheet of installation instructions and a template to cut the holes in the door, if not predrilled. The Black finish looks very nice and has a slight shine, like a satin finish.

Do these locks for bed/bath come with keys?

Not physical keys. They come with the ‘key’ to pick the lock but all you need is s finger nail to unlock them. If you want something with an actual key, get a different lock
