RP 43028 Tub Spout Developed a LeakMy guest bathroom Delta tub spout (RP43028) developed a leak due to a crack in the inner plastic sleeve. Leak becomes a stream when the shower diverter is actuated. I caught this early, but it could have been a costly repair if the stream which exited at the backing plate had become bad enough that it got behind the tile.

Beautiful SpoutHad to be specially ordered, finish is really nice, but it uses and new mounting system I haven't seen before - hope it is leak proof.

It looks nice and works, but it's plasticIt was labelled as being made of plastic on the web site, but I figured that must be an error since I've never heard of a plastic fixture until now. Sure enough, the outer casing is made of plastic, but it's pretty durable. I installed it for our claw-foot tub and it works and looks good and water flow is reasonably quiet (as you'd expect for a long spout with no diverter.)
My uncertainty about it is probably unfounded--it'll probably outlast a metal spout of equal price. An upside is if you accidentally whack it really hard, it'll break off without damaging the much more solid copper/steel/brass plumbing in the wall.
